Great ride and video, this looks like a must try route in Melbourne.

Thanks Josh - there are some slight variations to the Crucifix route that people like to do to throw in some extra spice. Also general cycling banter on what the "traditional" crucifix route is - as with all things in cycling it's...........inconclusive!!! 😜

Nice ride mate, re the crucifix, I do Inverness Rd instead of going down to Montrose and go to summit as well.. That was what a mate told me was the "traditional" Crucifix is.

Cheers - glad you enjoyed it. We had that debate on the route as I have done the same in the past re Inverness and Sky High! All up great riding out in the Nongs which ever way you go.

good video; sorry to disappoint but that aren't the crucifix you missed sky high and the brutal inverness rd. and that's why you would start at Devils Elbow into 1/20, sky high then Inverness, finishing with the Wall the strategy being to have the legs for inverness, so its post the easy climbs on 1/20, devils elbow. you know you've got to go back to do it proper 😈

Cheers Marcus - looks like there will be a take 3 of the Crucifix in my future! I have done the route with sky high and inverness before as well and agree it’s the more traditional route.

SkyHigh and Inverness have always been part The Crucifix... try again mate.

As an ex-road cyclist, and a motorist, it’s really not cool to cycle in the Dandenongs at midday on a Saturday and badly hold up traffic. Cheers.

Yes completely agree with you - we started our ride early and off the road by 10:30am.

why not? what makes you more important as a driver? why are you entitled to the road and not cyclists? get stuffed mate

Why would you hold up traffic? Plenty of room on most roads up there. All the arms of the Crucifix anyway
