Caroline Crouch was seemingly happily married to Babis Anagnostopoulos in Athens, living with their new baby. One night in 2021, they were subject to a horrific home invasion, with a tragic and disturbing outcome. This case grabbed Greece and didn't let go, a major manhunt started. But it would end where it all began.

As a Greek, I really did go "yay!" with this video! Congrats on your subtitles, they are spot-on! Loooove the bit about the Greek swearwords, spot-on too! This case was indeed very high profile and it was the first in a long line of domestic violence related crimes that have happened in the last couple of years. I live in Denmark and didn't follow it as closely, so it was interesting to get all the details from this video :-) There is an even crazier case that has been going on in Greece lately, about a woman who is accused of killing her 3 children. Look her up, her name is Roula Pispirigou. There was also a shocking story from Cyprus from about 5-6 years ago, about a man who would kill foreign women (foreigners that didn't have friends in the country, so nobody would be looking for them), put their bodies in suitcases and throw them in a river. Could make an interesting video...Keep up the good work, I love your content!!

I met my ex husband when I was 16 and he was 28. What did I learn? Predators! When a grown man chases after a little girl, it means he is a monster. I almost didn’t survive mine. He killed our family pets too. A man loving a child isn’t love, it’s a perverted sick and controlling pedophile abusing his victim. But boy do I know what she went through. Big facts. When I was 14 I had a boyfriend that was 24. He made me engage in many acts I was scared to say no to. I went on to be molested multiple times by multiple grown men, Including uncle over the next couple years. It’s like predators can smell survivors to take advantage of. My husband of 11 years is only a year older than me now and it’s so clear that this relationship is so much more logical. It’s a red flag for me to see a much older man with a younger woman, I always wonder WHEN they started dated 9/10, it was when she was a child. Maybe not that often, but it gives me pause, nonetheless. It’s heartbreaking and I’m so sorry you too experienced this violation

I guess we will never know the exact feelings of Caroline and Babis, but yeah just agree to go your separate ways if things are not working. Time and time again, custody over a child/children seems to be a huge factor in why people do not want to get divorced or potentially lose custody. Still, be adults about it. What did you think was going to happen, Babis? Sometimes, I question how much a parent actually cares about raising their child or if it is just another tool to use against their partner during the divorce process. This is getting long. I really just meant to say that I agree with you and the creator 100%. Just divorce.

Absolutely! It is such a horrifyingly common characteristic of sociopathic/narcissistic (often serial) murderers out there that they either have a history of animal torture and abuse or it is found alongside their other atrocities like this monster. It is such an indicator of a truly viscous and almost certainly lethally dangerous and volatile calculating individual that it should be taken much much more seriously- aside also from the fact that it is an inhumanely soulless and truly evil act to even have a thought of committing against such innocent and often helpless beautiful little pure souls that pets and animals often are in those tragic situations. 😭💔

You are so right about the dog! I think if more ppl in the US got sentences like that for animal abuse or neglect they might think twice before doing anything cruel to a helpless animal. Then again, sadly, I doubt that would work…ppl would still find ways to get out of it or around it, and their attorneys would get their charges dropped or decreased to something a lot less. 🙄 And even if none of that happened, I highly doubt anyone put in jail for 11 years for killing their dog that way would in any way actually end up serving the full 11 years! Ha! This country is notorious for letting ppl outta jail/prison early all the time! Smh. Yeh, don’t even get me started on that… May that beautiful baby girl be blessed and protected for the rest of her life, and may her mother and Roxie RIP. 🌹 🕊 ❤️ 💐

I Am a non Greek living in Athens. I am a Greek not living in Greece. Greek society is unfazed by the age difference because it's not considered out of the ordinary: my parents are 16 years apart, and other family members of mine touch 30 years difference, including teacher-student relationships. I think it's a combination of a patriarchal societal structure and the religious undertone that make Greeks normalize these relationships.
@beebsb4478

@@eleni73 I totally agree, Eleni. It weirded me out because you still can see a lot of partnerships where female is much much much younger than male. However, we are not living in 19th or 20th century. And while i understand that there is different acceptance of age difference in Greece, I still believe that in many cases it is just not correct and right. Especially, when u start to day someone as a child, because let’s face it, she was a child. Every single adult person in her environment who supported this relationship failed her. The fact that he did not look like usual pedo suspect and had money does not mean that at almost 30 he should be dating high schooler.

In Australia, a girl in foster care was killed by her foster dad because his ADULT son had been raping her and thought that she was probably pregnant, I think she was 11 or 12. The whole family covered it up. The rapest was out in no time, as well as the mom and brother! The worst part?? They carried her casket! They acted like they were the loving family, I about threw up!! How evil! That's like one extra kick in the gut! Playing the good guys, soaking up all of the condolences! Familial DNA through ancestry testing is also solving so many cold cases; the days where murderers and rapists escape because they aren't on a DNA database are going - they can be tracked down and identified through relatives' DNA. What we need now is GPS microchips implanted in criminals who are likely to reoffend. Don't want to be chipped because "muh rights!", well, don't do the crime.

Also, it's not uncommon for the abuser to injure, torture, or kill pets in front of their abuse victim. I don't know whether this POS killed the dog in front of the wife or even first - seems to be a short time between sleeping, heart spiking, and flatlining. Women (usually - men are victims of domestic abuse too) need to be educated to remove themselves, their children, and their pets to safety when the abuser gets the news that the victim and family are getting out of the situation. Sadly, most shelters won't take pets. Often there is another option - from a vet, to a friend, to a non-profit who cares for pets while their owners are temporarily unable to provide a home for them.

Fist time I read about it on the news I could tell something was way off and I was like "the husband did it!" Couple of weeks later I met the only other person I know of that thought the same. Upon discussing with him , turns out we came to the same conclusion but for completely different reasons. For me his whole story about thieves coming into the house and tying him up and killing the mother just didn't make any sense. The other guy was weary of him being able to call 911 with his hands tied. Either way, I'm sure the police didn't buy it either, they just kept quiet until they put the pieces together. OK, now the dog. I understand that your spouse can make you really angry, to the point where you want to kill them, but how can you hang and kill a dog like that. Dogs are like babies, they never hide anything, they always express their feelings and they love and protect you. That shows that he wasn't just an angry husband. He has a black heart.
