It was called the wall of sound. Brian Wilson was riding in his car with a girl when it came on the radio. He was blown away. He pulled his car over to the side of the road so he could hear it better.

Thanks for these sessions... they are amazing in how each one is different and better each version. Great background information by the masters.

"....Philip you're being an impossible son of a bitch again...". I can only imagine how many times this was said either in or out of Mr. Spector's earshot.

This was probably said by Leon Russell. Probably the only man who could get away with talking to Phil like that just because of how intimidating he looks.

If you travel three decades ago, you’ll be on the 90s, not the 60s. You must go 60 years ago if you want to go to the 60s

That piano makes the song IMO. Still one of my all-time favorites!

Don Randi may also be playing here, but that piano riff has Leon Russell written all over it!

Fantastic song! Have you found any sessions of he’s a rebel yet, or are those lost somewhere? I’ve been looking for the production of that song for about 15 years.

When making a recording I assume that the first take is not perfect (unless you are The Beatles or Bob Dylan). Then as the days roll by you start to get better then I guess you get bored and start making mistakes. Has anyone studied to find the optimal hours or takes for getting it the best it can be?

Depends. Did they rehearse ahead of time or are they sight-reading from charts?
