Also I think the spears being the result of Briar spells in a safe bet to make. I think it's interesting that their catalyst draws on faith, seeing as how their origins were likely not of the Erdtree but the Crucible, whose power is of the land itself as is the Briar magic related to it

Thanks for the story about the fire monks. I find it funny that Marika provided the fell god and the black flame with new worshippers. What I find most interesting is the story of the ghostflame and the death rite birds; the flame they wield is alluring af too.

At 10:30 I thought it was interesting that those thorny trees used to impale the giants are just placed around the Fire Monk's camp. Originally I thought the trees might have been magically formed by Marika during the War as weapons, but this makes me wonder if that might not be the case. Either the Fire Monks brought some to Liurnia with them or they're actually some form of the Aberrant Bloodthorn sorcery? In any case, I'm not sure why the Monks would want them around the camp since they were clearly used to kill Giants and the monks worship the same god as the Giants so you'd think they would like them.

A fire monk helped me finally beat malenia by melting her with flame of the fell god while I tanked her with fingerprint shield. I really suck at playing mage but recently tried a flame incantation build for taking out the avatars and ulcerated spirit dudes in haligtree and it was pretty fun ngl. went back to 99 str and 60 endurance right after tho 😂

I was thinking about the Blackflame Monks and how they converted just the other day. Maybe it's a safe bet to make that it happened in Caelid, if not the Windmill Village. There's a Godskin Apostle in both, but Caelid in particular is significant because the Fire Monks, who were traveling south, eventually entered Caelid and were locked in conflict with what amounts to a goddess of apocalyptic proportions. Seeing as how the Scarlet Rot is already staved by fire, and that there's Blackflame Monks guarding Caelid's Divine Tower - plus the fire giant tanks - we might be able to conclude that it was there that gave some faith in the god-killing blackflame.

I'm guessing maybe regular fire wasn't enough when they saw the rot on the battlefield. I genuinely can't place why the monks are in the tower besides possibly having followed that apostle there because I can't get an exact idea of where the monks descended the mountain at and which areas they passed through aside from gelmir and liurnia

@@TheHonoredMadman just a cool theory, but perhaps the Fell God's flame is still in the tanks, and if that CAN beat the Scarlet Rot, then that's why it didn't expand beyond Caelid yet, where the tanks are constantly fighting at the border. I wonder myself about how the Monks got out of the Mountaintops if they're connected only to Leyndell. But perhaps they descended the part of the mountain we cant access, cutting through the border?

Maybe the flame gaurdians are the last of the actual flame guards and the monks, predates and socerers were cast out for heretical beliefs thats why there's none of them in the guardians garrison
