Well, I've got to admit one thing that I've been watching your content for a quite of time. I can't describe how grateful I am for having opportunity to enjoy this great content. Long story short, I speak 6 languages, Serbian as my first language, Spanish (Argentinean dialect Rioplatense and official Spain spanish) and English (both languages at level C1, sometimes at C2) and French, Italian, German (officialy at B2), therefore I enjoy learning languages and their regional differences. So, I fell in love with Neapolitan dialect, even more than with Italian, watching your amazing channel. However, I am not here only to discuss and brag about my language knowledge... I am here to propose some things in order to make this dialect more accessible to people that want to learn it, consequently by making it more widespread online and as result making it well known around the world with more active speakers. I would be delighted If we could make this dialect great again, if not that let's say more famous and widely accepted. Feel free to contact me by responding this comment, I am eager to share some ideas.

@@AaroneStefano Actually, my name is not Lucius (even though it sounds badass) and I put it on my KZbin account in honor of the great roman military commander Lucius Cornelius Sulla. I sent you an e-mail (that official e-mail of the channel, hope it's still active), apart from copy/paste this same comment, I added in e-mail some basic ideas regarding this topic about Neapolitan. Of course, if you have some further question in that direction, I am ready to answer. Also, I posted on the forum of that site (name mentioned in e-mail, I am going to send some screenshots) that your channel is a perfect example of great content and people willing to spread knowledge. I hope that you're going to earn some more subscribers.

This is the dialect we speak neopolitan. It is also the dialect of great artists philosophers farmers, renaisance greek roman and Spanish French periods. Luciano pavarotti sings in this languge his native tongue neopolitan. Napoli or napule in greek neopolis is a very influential and beautiful city.

ciao! i have a question about napoletano language - is it still widely used among young people, at the shops/cafes or other public places? would it be hard to live in Naples without speaking this language at all? thanks in advance for your reply! 😊

Ciao. Well, Nowdays when you go to any shops or pubblic places, everyone will speak italian, above all if you haven't got familiar with anyone. You could hear someone speaking Neapolitan with someone else if they know each other. The only category that could approach to you in Neapolitan would be eldery people (around 70/80 years old). So if you can speak italian, they will understand you 100% and you could understand them beacause they will speak to you in Italian.
