The problem with universities not simply pursuing truth goes even further. Reviewers' comments on journal article submissions frequently demonstrate that the reviewer will question and reject. papers on the basis that they disagree with them - or require that it's re-written according to a totally different framework according to their preferences and viewpoint, rather than simply assessing them for the robustness of methods, findings, discussion, etc. It's worse in some disciplines than in others. So much of what is published is pedestrian repetition of same old same old. I have colleagues who are excellent researchers and admired as leaders in their field, with piles of unpublished work rejected, rejected, rejected, while we have to sit and watch pedestrian boring work published in the same journals. Universities are shot.

I like Eric's choice of phrase when he said that the "Woke" have made race "sacred." I, like Eric, am a trained social scientist, and for decades I have been pointing out to people and questioning why it's more acceptable to make inferences about people based on, for example, country of origin, hair colour, eye colour, height, build, but that making any inference about a person based on the amount of melanin in someone's skin (i.e., skin colour) is taboo. Of course, in more recent years, some of the other categories that I've mentioned, such as build, HAVE become more taboo. Ultimately, as I'm sure most of you reading this will agree, we need to evaluate people based on their behaviour and merit, not pre-judge people based on certain immutable characteristics. This elementary statement is what the Woke have ironically inverted in their quest to equalize outcomes for various groups, and this is definitely not to the benefit of our societies as a whole.

Good values are like super powers. They help you AND everyone around you. Some good values that help you in life are: responsibility, wisdom, pertinence, courage, optimism and kindness. Wokeness is basically these values inverted to vices. Instead of helping you AND everyone around you, it hinders you and everyone else. Responsibility: taking ownership of the situation. Wokeness teaches it is always someones else's fault and you are a victim. Wisdom: seek knowledge, truth, experience and think from first principles. Wokeness teaches you to be emotional and reject facts. Pertinence: taking a long term view rather than a short term view. Wokeness teaches you to ignore the long term effects and focus on your feels now. Courage: dealing with tough situations with resilience. Wokeness teaches you that you are weak and a victim. Optimism: Staying open to new opportunities. Wokeness again teaches you to be pessimistic and you have no agency. Kindness: Helping others in their journeys. Wokeness is the opposite of tolerance for people with a different view.

As an immigrant I will say this. There are 3 problems. 1) Multiculturism, multi systemism (where you bring systems into the country that will not mix with the local systems, diversity thereby not being a strength, assimilation not required), 2) the government systems, checks and balances are broken (for example a PM can remain in office indefinitely, 3) Liberalism needs to be channeled into a productive future. The green economy and going broke as a result is not sustainable. We should be focusing on not solving climate issues by buying more things with more money we don't have.

@@DailyMilkToast My country was the first to give women the vote. But back then women were a statistical minority. Meanwhile the men were building railways, roads, bridges and cities. Now that the country was modern, and the men who built it had been destroyed by two world wars, women started emigrating. And essentially the people who built the nation are now essentially disenfranchised and don't have a say. Whether they be male or female. Our last census shows that half the people who are living and presumably voting are recent immigrants. And very diverse. Our media tells us our politicians will nolonger represent us and that is a good thing. They say. I have given up on democracy.

When I was a young schoolboy a group of Christians called the Gideons visited our school and gave us free copies of the New Testament. Perhaps an anti-woke army can visit schools, wait at the gates and give anti-woke training manuals to the kids as they leave school : A compact book of wisdom, small enough for kids to keep in their rucksacks and for mothers to keep in their handbags.

There are books that do that on different topics I bought some for children for Christmas. Ian Plimers, published his Little Green Book, on the truth about climate change in three versions, one for primary aged kids, another for young teens, and an adult version ofcourse. Another is, We Do Lockdown, a picture book mocking lockdowns, at a comprehension level of a five year old.

Be good to get this out as a free Khan academy course or what have you. The quicker the better and the wider the scope the better. I realize under other circumstances, charging would be better. Maybe a charitable funded series? If the goal is to get this out asap, free would be good. I’m taking a double coarse load this fall; both a degree and a certification and I need something like this pronto as the university is in full on social justice mania. Recently, I’ve written two essays critiquing CSJ but I need more education to defend myself and still maintain my student status. Interestingly with my two recent essays critiquing CSJ, II received an A plus. Yet no comment/evaluation from the professors. Either they don’t want a fight and gave me the mark to shut me up or they agree with my arguments. The course assignments made me quite ill as I couldn’t stomach BSing just to pass.
