I like that the MDHR sorta made Mugman x Cala Maria semi-cannon to Cuphead. I say semi-cannon because I'd imagine the Cuphead show takes place in a different but parallel universe to the Cuphead game, with the DLC is a sort of mini sequel to the main story.

In the game, she does become a Medusa-like character in the next phase of the fight. Fact: The way it happened is when 2 electric eels bit her hips, zapping her, and gets Medusa powers. But in the show, they went straight to her of being a dangerous sea beast (ironically “she-beast”) and having the Medusa powers as a part of her character, implying to the fact for the fans of the game she has to have the powers, otherwise it wouldn’t make sense in the show that she wouldn’t have them.
