I had a really close friend, he introduced me to the cure , we played the cure songs as a music band, we played in some festivals and some bars, my friend passed away, I miss him a lot, but he`s still with me as a support in very difficult moments, as an ethereal presence of seconds ,minutes, hours still in my memory, some persons never die , and become that shinny light of our lives!

In memory of our loves that have passed on. My finance informed me that she had cancer in 2018. The beauty of Robert's music always makes me think of you honey. You are missing from me but I know you're not in pain now. "We will be together and I will miss you and we shall be together"

The high point was during the first part of 'Plainsong' when RS does his 'walkabout' thing, I can just imagine the flood of emotions going through his head. Forty years worth of songs, gigs, line-up changes, albums, and a crowd of about 60,000 people all still wanting to hear them live. Must have been an incredible moment for him.
@shaq1575 жыл бұрын
My dad is a huge fan of the cure since their inception, I grew up listening to their songs in the car as a boy. He had never been to see them live until a few years ago at Wembley and then we went again to the BST in Hyde Park. Truly two of the greatest nights of my life, the cure are absolutely timeless.

We were hiding from the heat in a hotel nearby until about 5 pm. England had won their world cup football match, gay pride was on and it was 33 degrees. Got into the venue in time to see Goldfrapp, standing in the shade (I'm from Scotland, way too hot for me). Made our way into the centre of the crowd as we heard the Plainsong wind chimes start. By then the heat was at an enjoyable level. The concert was incredible and absolutely unforgettable. I concur, best thing I've ever been to.

Bought Killing an Arab when released, saw them on the first tour as The Cure, saw Robert Smith stand in for the Banshees on the Join Hands tour 1979 and watched the Goth transformation unfold. Never thought I'd be watching that spikey haired, young post punk rocker do an impression of somebodies grandma 40 years later. Still sounding great nonetheless. Hope we're all able to make it to the 50th and 60th anniversaries.

I have shown this, and other concert videos, to family and Yes, Robert Smith looks just like my Aunt Terry - she teased her black hair and wore red lipstick that was often smudged and she was a large woman - so I dig watching the Cure and being reminded of my wildly fun Aunt as well!!

Listening to most of these songs I feel like being in the middle of a swivel pulling me into a down-motion time machine, pulling me back to those wonderful days during the 80s when the world was still somewhat ok, and full of amazing moments and friends, music, and being free. I feel sad, old and forgotten now.

It takes something, there's got to be something in it. And that something has to be very deep and special to like and love The Cure. Too sad, they never paid us a visit here in Romania. But they will finally come here in July. Another sad thing is they're not popular and known here. But i will go and see them, no matter what. They will perform in a place where some others managed to bring 55.000 people together. Just can't wait, just can't wait...
