After 16 years, The Cure are releasing a new album next month. A Fragile Thing is the second track to be released and it's a classic. One thing to note: This could be the last of the Black And White series - I have finally found the colour button on my new camera. Next is the microphone. Apologies.

I find it funny and accidentally heartwarming that my favorite Japanese band, JILS, predominantly the frontman/brains Yukiya, were unapologetically Cure-driven in their sound (along with other British post-punk) and now this new single features a very JILSesque E Piano like they're returning the favor. Since they were my strongest songwriting influence I guess that makes the Cure my musical grandad. And the long-awaited new album comes in the month of my 40th birthday! I Loved 4:13 when that came out so I am Quite ready for more.

I’ve been a diehard Cure fan since the start. I’m an old man now (54) and most of us know that Robert is a master songwriter. No question, but many don’t realize how amazing of a guitarist he is. Having seen them live 17 times his live guitar work is breathtaking. He does do all of the popular riffs that we all know, but when he improvs some guitar solos it always blows my mind. I’m looking forward to this tour (I’ve decided that they will tour even though he has said they won’t 😂 Great video as always Justin. I enjoy your work.😉🙌🏾❤️

With the Radio 2 gates apparently barred to The Darkness the way forwards for glamorous rock must surely be the creation of The JHRA internet radio station. Dedicated JHRA radio could well be the future of pop rock radio for the UK, move the dial away from traditional BBC radio and provide an internet alternative where a diverse range of subgenera within glam rock, from classic glam to modern hair metal-inspired bands, can be heard in public again.

Nevermind about Radio 2 - they are really going down hill - especially since they let Ken Bruce go. The plan now is to get aired on Greatest Hits Radio - you know what you've got to do for that. Sing your heart out until everyone buys The Longest Kiss. I haven't listened to A Fragile Thing yet - I think I will wait until I am in a mood where I can cope with another depressing song. Thank you for your analysis Justin, and whether you are black and white or colour I always enjoy your meanderings. 😍

Justine, For a fellow who respects longevity and musical rebirth, there is a dearth of U2 critiques 'Riding Again'. There is, however, an opportunity! How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb was a huge critical success in 2004 and for its 20th anniversary, the band are re-releasing a remastered version of the album (in a huge range of novelty colours, naturally). In among the mandatory remixes and live audio, there is a little gem of ten previously unreleased tracks from the Atomic Bomb sessions. The album is not out until November but I humbly implore you to review either Country Mile - released a fortnight ago and available to stream - or Mercy, a longtime fan favourite which has been available on various KZbin channels for years. It is, unashamedly, U2 doing U2, and doing it very well. The album version of Mercy has been renamed Luckiest Man in the World, and I shall leave it to you to work out whom Bono was referring to in the new title. Here is a lacrosse stick 🥍 for the U2 haters to beat me with Keep these videos coming - love what you're doing. Entertaining and educational.

For me the new songs are pretty enjoyable, alone moreso than this new new one but they don't compare to disintegration I don't think. @@1318Hereiswisdom I assume you're referring to the Eric Gill sculpture. Personally I'm not sure it is as simple as just removing it - Gill was so prolific, even the fonts we're using on this website are influenced by his work. That influence is unfortunately so widespread I'm not sure you could ever scrub it out. Perhaps a massive plaque explaining his crimes would be better - instead of making history disappear, educate people so it doesn't happen again.
