Mochi Boi True but face it - at least the songs of theirs I am familiar with do not require what one might consider a very broad vocal range so that has to help. Now Steve Perry at 70 singing Journey songs? Don’t think so as he doesn’t hit the high notes like he did at 30.

I believe he is implying that real men cry, and are not afraid of emotions. Those not crying are boys. Basically he was too immature to cry.

@@bradlepik3822this is crazy, I always thought it to mean he’s speaking from the perspective of a young tough boy that was always told “boys don’t cry!” This is what I love about media and music specifically. There could be many different interpretations and they’re all right.

pls. do listen to The Essense.. it sounded a lot like him(Robert). anyhow, Boys dont cry is timeless. .I know a lot of younger gen who enjoys listening, dancing, singing along to this, without knowing it first came out in '78-'79... the Cure is pure enchanting and beautiful..and Robert Smith is....., for Goth's sake, the Goat of all time...

They've been playing for over 45 years. I love their music. I saw them in 1989, live thanks to an amazing woman who had some pull to get 5th row seats. The experience was magnificent. These four guys made enough music to fill Great Woods, the venue in Mansfield, Massachusetts and beyond. The power, the emotion, and the artistry was like nothing I'd ever heard or seen

What an absolute legendary band this is. They've been impossible to pin down. Everyone thinks of them as shoegazing goths but they've written some of the most perfect pop songs in history. Į first saw them on TV in Oz in about 1980, and I've been a fan ever since.
