I been living with it since 1995. It really has sucked to live most of my life having to take pills. Even if this is a cure and I can stop taking pills, the damage has already been done from 25 years of taking HIV meds. It will be so awesome to not have to wake up to an alarm clock to have to take meds. It will be so nice to not have to swallow so many pills its like having dinner.. I dont live very far from these guys. Like 40 minutes away from their building. I have had the pleasure to talk with one of their members who deals with investing. It is a private company, and I understand them not going public because then they have their stock holders voting on things.. its better to stay private..

@@rohanagnihotri2080 I used to let it bring me down, but no matter how much I beat myself up thinking about it, I can never change it. So there came a point in my life it was to either move on, or drag it with me and let it bring me down. I cant change what happened. I stop thinking how different my life would had been had I not gotten it. But who knows if that alternate time line would eventually had lead to an earlier death from something else. After a while taking pills is like breathing.. you just do it and not think of it. The only thing that I still carry is the consequence of having to take pills for so long and the damage that the medications have done to my body. I think what is going to fail on me first ? My liver, kidneys, heart, brain? dunno. But I am about to turn 50. I have lived more of my life with it, than with out it. And those years with out it was when I was young and life is a blur back then.. All I know is HIV, that other life is long gone. But I so hope and wish for that one day, where I dont have to worry about waking up every 12 hours to take meds. I just once want to live a day or even more of having the feeling of not needing to swallow something to live. My fingers are crossed, and I hope they report good news here in a few months. Even if it is good news, it still could be years before this would go to the public im sure.

And I Hope that it will come in reasonable/affordable price wherein all countries including the 3rd world country can afford its price so that all people living with HIV can access to this cure. Will the modified helper T cells against hiv stay in our body forever for the rest of our lives or just for a while and then die on their own, doc. I think only if the modified helper T cells can survive and produce new daughter cells that also have the same hiv resistance as the ccr5 mutant stem cells received by the berlin patient. We can only cure hiv. I don't know if I think that's right sir

The current focus is on proving that it can work to move HIV+ persons from antiretroviral therapy to a one-and-done functional cure. Once that is established, we will move deliberately to bring it to patients in need, but the next steps will be determined based on data from the current phase 1 human trial. It’s great all this work has been done for hiv. But sadly those of us w chronic Lyme and co infections (which infect B cells and cause low cd 57) have no real treatment that works! It’s a guessing game! The cdc needs to recognize chronic Lyme! They still don’t!
