YYEESSSS - this advice is like gold. We don’t have an entry way and tend to pile things in the dining room. We have a coat rack from ikea, but it’s a little bulky and def a clutter collector. But a little table? That might be the answer!

Our coat closet is located in the back of the house lol. It’s a small colonial-type…staircase smack-dab in the middle kind. So that’s inconvenient for the everyday stuff.

I live in Denver so we have all seasons here. I would say I have 3 pairs of shoes per season. Now in winter would be my snow boots, my tennis shoes and another casual shoe. I live alone in a small apartment so there really is no entryway like yours just a door with a very small closet. I do have specific places in the closet for my little dog. And i do have hooks for his lease and drawers for his coats and accessories. Love seeing you and Clover every Vlog!!! Wish you a very Merry Christmas and a fantastic 2024!!! Please give little Clover a good hug from Denver . `

Since it is winter, I have my waterproof hiking boots, which only came out last week, my chucks, a slip on pair for quick outdoor errands. Though I did get Hey Dude's for Christmas... so we'll see. For summer I have my chucks, heeled skecher flip flops (LOVE them, wear them 905% of summer), & flat sandals.

I'm counting 5 shoes in regular rotation. When it gets snowy, I pretty much only weat boots. Bit yeah...3 pairs of clogs, all the same but in black, gray and fuchsia, then there are some red leather cute Mary Jane's, and some casual black and white loafers. For super casual, I have bright green Crocs (also used for quick trips out with the dogs, to garden or take out trash) or an aqua pair of knock-off Hey Dudes. I do also keep a pair of sneakers for long walks.

In my corner of Texas - sneakers and flip flops are my go-to shoes. I usually carry my shoes to my closet though. I have boots, loafers and house shoes also. Total of 9 pair. I need to work on our entryway. Thinking about building a shallow cabinet to hold a few things Hubby likes to have handy.

A simple rule I have is anytime I get mail/packages or bring stuff from my car from shopping I need to immediately process it . Example put the groceries away or at least put the new appliance in a place like my island or sofa so I have to deal with it within 24 hours ( this takes 2-15 min but is a game changer) For women , I don’t know why keys have to be hung up. I have always thrown them in my purse . Even better keep them on a long string so they are attached to your purse and they don’t come out ever . Most cars now have an app or as long as the key is near by you don’t need to put it in . For your home for $60 you can put in a keyless entry . That coat closet is beautiful

I am wearing about 3 pairs of shoes now, but what i find odd is how many people keep most/ all of their shoes in the entryway. My shoes live in my clothes closet. Just the ones I was wearing today are by the door.

This is where I'm good for a change. I have 4 pairs of shoes in regular rotation, two of which in the cloaks, the other two midway in my office and the remainder in storage. It was good to have a recap of your 2018 entryway with that adorable red storage unit. It must have been difficult to let that go.

I love these tips! We do keep all our shoes in the entryway, we've got shoe cubbies and it really helps having all the shoes in the same space, keeps them all out of the closet and off the floor! Usually, we're decent about only having one pair on the floor (flip flops to bring cat litter out to the trash can). It also helps that we don't really have winter shoes vs summer shoes (for now)

Love all your videos. You always have lots of great ideas. I really need to organize my entryway closet. I keep my shoes in my bedroom closet. I have about 50 pairs of shoes in rotation during the colder season and I switch my shoes during summer. I love shoes and purses 👜. I have a problem 😂🤦🏻♀️.

After moving into my tiny studio flat in a retirement community, I have edited my clothes, as my closet is ultra tiny. I am no longer feeling saf

That closet is great. I have a rubber tray for dirty shoes next to our door and and shoe rack across the laundry/mudroom. I keep 2-3 pairs there. I’ll put the other family members shoes away that aren’t I regular use. Same as you. I can’t wait to remodel that room. It’s really poorly designed for all its functions.

Currently I have warm house shoes, outside I wear tennis shoes most all the time for foot support, and I wear a pair of suede booties to church on Sunday. In the summer I wear tennis shoes sometimes and Chacos sometimes. A pair of flip flops at the back door for quick trips outside. East Tennessee here. We have our fair share of minor snow and ice. If I'm going to be stomping around in the snow (not likely because I hate snow) I do have a pair of warm fuzzy boots.

I really just have my everyday sneakers by the door on a mat, which I take off as I come in. Once they have aired out I put them in a pull out shoe storage (with a seat on top) right next to the mat, so they are hidden. I also have a pair of slip on sandals for when I have to just make a quick trip downstairs (I live in a building) to either get the mail or throw out trash/recyclables.

I own 1 pair of winter boots, 2 pairs of gym shoes, 2 pairs of sandals...that's it. I am picky on shoes and look for comfort over fashion. I don't even have dress shoes anymore...dresses just have to go with the shoes I own and can wear. I have a cedar chest in my entryway to sit on to take shoes on and off, it's also storage for shoes as I have a dog that sheds a lot. I'm trying to come up with something narrow to attach to the wall to hold keys...renter friendly...thinking of making something with foam core board and hanging with command strips. Merry Christmas, Cas in ON, Canada ☃🎄💖

In the winter, I constantly rotate 3 shoes: my hiking boots and two pairs of snow boots in black or brown to match whatever outfit I’m wearing. In the summer, I only wear my rainbow flip flops. However, I somehow own like 30 pairs of shoes 🥴 my feet haven’t grown since middle school so that doesn’t help. I’ve been working on decluttering my shoes but those are the hardest for me to give up because they are all in such good condition

I must be really unusual, as I only own 1 pair of shoes, sandals, trainers & boots. I hardly ever buy new shoes & mine last for years. I’ve never understood the shoe thing. Houses in the UK are a lot smaller than ones in the US & often the only place for coats & shoes is in the downstairs loo, which is often called a cloakroom. As soon as I come home I hang my handbag on a hook, then my key & watch on hooks, put my shoes/sandals in a cupboard & then hang my coat/jacket on a hook in the utility room.

I am always so shocked by people’s struggles with shoes in their entryway. I own 14 pairs of shoes. 12 of them live in their boxes on the top shelf of my closet. One pair of rubber flip flops lives behind my bathroom door. Another pair of sandals lives on my feet. When I shower, I switch from my everyday sandals to my shower shoes, then back again. When I get dressed, I choose my shoes, put my sandals in the empty box and put the box back on the shelf. When I get home, I switch back. I can see that people who live in climates that include snow would need to keep a pair of sandals in their entry to switch to when they walk in, and why they would leave their wet boots in the entry to dry. I just don’t see why any other shoes would need to be anywhere near the front door. But clearly I’m in the minority because every decluttering or home management channel covers this extensively.

Most of my shoes are in regular rotation… if I don’t want to wear them, why do I own them?? But my bedroom is right off my entry, so they all live in the closet and I don’t need to worry about them cluttering the entryway 😂

How convenient! I currently walk all of my shoes to the bedroom, it's a bit inconvenient being across the house! lol I can't speak for the average shoe owner, but for those who live in areas with Seasons (actual snow in the winter, actual hot summers, everything in between), our shoes have to rotate. One pair of snow boots for each my partner and I, and a couple of pairs of sandals for when it's too warm for snow boots 😁 Oh how sometimes I miss living in a place with no snow, boots are a newer, but required, addition to my little shoe "collection"
