@@matt_one That's exactly right!,, I introduced/exposed my kids to everything from bands like Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots, and The Cure,, to even earlier 80's stuff (like synth-pop/post punk etc...). They have a couple hundred songs on their playlist's now that's up to 20 years older than they are (and they're grown now lol)... You just can't beat a lot of the classic sounds from that time and era. If they could, they wouldn't continue to recycle it (like on "Stranger Things"), for these following generations!👍

My kids, younger than yours, are exposed to the music I listen since they were born. I remember the hard times with our first son, literally allergic to sleep, and how he easily fell asleep listening to AC/DC or Iron Maiden's music. Now, both my sons heavily criticize my musical tastes, while they listening to tons of shit.... I couldn't say that they love music. Their music is only an annoying background of the stupid videos they watch.....

Three of my favourite songs combined to make this piece of art? Aw, hell yes! I'm a 00s kid, and growing up, my dad introduced me to the music he listened to when he was younger (70s en 80s mostly). The Cure quickly became one of my favourites (Disintegration is probably my favourite album of all time). Being a massive movie nerd, he eventually watched The Crow with me. Man, that movie haunted me, in a good way. I'm now in my twenties, and my dad and I still exchange songs with each other. I guess it's our love language haha.

Thank you! I tried to keep the mood of Placebo's version with additional drums. Many are from Burn, as well as the electric bass and guitars. There's a synth bass line, maybe the only element that could give some electronic feeling. Industrial? I don't know, but I love Front 242 and maybe I'll try to make something similar soon! 🖐😃

I'm pretty picky about my mashup/mixes. Especially with favorite songs. Lots of people will gladly ruin a classic just to get their name on it in some way and it always makes me sad. This is done really well and evokes a vibe that gives justice to all of it for their own styles. When I first heard the Placebo cover, it was decent but I felt it still couldn't compete with Kate's original. For some reason the addition of the Cure here adds just what it needs to make the vibe more what I felt it should be to justify being mixed at all. Very nicely done, thanks!

Love this one, absolutely perfect remix. Easily one of the best tracks I've come across on youtube, and I listen to a lot of stuff. My daughter is really into Stranger Things so she's just come across this song (I know it from the first time around, long time ago!), and we're both seeing Placebo live in December. Through Apple ear buds the mix is spot on too, much respect.

Thank you! I instantly loved the song when it came out back in 1985, especially those powerful drums. Back then it was very frustrating to try to reproduce the sound with my Korg Poly 800 and Casio RZ-1. The Placebo's version was really an amazing surprise, I love its darker mood!

Thank you! I wanted to add some sounds, replacing the originals. So, thanks to A. I. , I got drums, bass and guitars almost perfectly separated. Then I kept some parts and replaced others.... e.g. the kick drum is not the original, but it comes from my Ensoniq synth. I was able to eq the remaining drums in order to overdub other toms and snare drums. It was my first time and it was very funny😜

Oh WOW this is an excellent remix! I don't know what to say, this is just so good! I've always liked anything Placebo and The Cure remixed, but add Kate in and this is other ways even more ethereal. I haven't seen how they used the song in Stranger Things which somehow made this song popular again, I know Placebo has a version of it and I prefer it over every other version out there, but man this made me believe it could be in some remastered The Crow soundtrack somewhere it made me doublecheck!

Wow! A mix I didn't know that I needed. I mean the guitar of Burn mixed with both Kate and Brian's vocals is just insane. If I had one wish, it would be for you to mix another version where you make the Burn instrumentals a bit more prominent.

Thanks for your appreciation! I love Placebo's version of this song (as well the original, of course). What I like more is that is quieter and darker than the original. The idea was to give it Burn as a background, without exceeding too much. I've added additional drums, a piano and a synth bassline. A more prominent instrumentals would have made more difficult to mix the vocals. I'm not a professional and I'm just making some funny experiments! 😄
