Odd enough, I went from listening to a worship song to this being a suggestion. In the words of Billy Corgan from the Smashing Pumpkins, on the subject of worship music, "I just personally think God has a better taste in music than that". There are a handful of well written songs lyrically and musically in worship music, but they're rare. I want to see worship music on the level of Robert Smith's and Billy Corgan's song writing and production. I think all art displays a side of God's character, but I think there is still better and worse music, and I have to believe God thinks so too. God-serving artists need to create music with the texture, poetry, and production of artists like Robert. That would be worship on an entire different artistic level.
@AngeleDeux14 жыл бұрын
So true.. Christian music never has the dark side quality.. the only band I ever liked from that genre was IONA ..n a song or two from other artists. I wish there were true goth or metal music for Christ.. 🙂
@Aaron-zh4kj4 жыл бұрын
@@AngeleDeux1 Listening to IONA now. I was trying to think of suggestions, but I don't have many Christian goth bands in my listening repertoire (Some have said the Awakening were a Christian band; not huge on them anyway). I'd say Falling Up has some more emotional musical depth and they have some songs with goth elements in them (listen to albums: Fangs, Captiva, Dawn Escapes, and Exit Lights). I have a number of Christian Industrial bands I've collected (Mortal, early Skillet, Klank, Circle of Dust (?)), some of which touch on the Goth thing. My biggest suggestion, if you're into metal as well, I'll say, check out the debut album from VAST, Visual Audio Sensory Theater (< that's the debut album's name). Amazing 90's heavier alternative record with industrial, goth, and world music elements. Full of real human experience from a Christian's perspective (there is cursing, depending on if that's a concern for you). Hope we find some more great Christian music.
