It's easy to look at Darkie's lyrics/song titles and think "anti hate", but I think he's a little more complex than that. One of my favorite lyrics he has written is: "Hate will bring you down or bring you up if you move smoothly". It's always resinated with me, and I thought of it as more of "be careful with who you hate" and that a good bit of anger and hate can get you really far. I'd also like to highlight his newest album cover (MONEY, POWER, FAME) depicts him throwing a peace sign, surrounded by hanged corpses of politicians, who were standing in as representations of the Elephant and the Donkey (left vs right). Depicting a very 99%, un-brainwashed perspective on hate. As if enlightened on who the real enemy is (or at least, that's the message I got)

I find it hilarious that someone trying to cancel him said “he’s a FASCIST!” like......how? Dude raps about shooting cops and politicians in the face quite a bit. Or thinking that he’s racist for his name and character. Even though his name is reclaiming a word used against him by racists and his avatar is inspired by gods of his Hindu heritage. People are ignorant. Not to mention, Spider Gang is a very diverse group and judging by talking with him occasionally back when his discord server was a thing, he’s actually a very nice and accepting guy.

Honestly, Lil Darkie has stayed strong and knows how to spread the positivity nobody else has. He doesn't care about getting cancelled, because... As a wise man once said, "You can't cancel someone who doesn't care." And if you try too hard to light the fire, you'll only get burnt by the flames you made.

He's mentioned Darkie once or twice in the past, so it's not super unexpected. Just off the top of my head, I think there was a "signed vs unsigned" or similar video and Pat noted that the example song used for Darkie from the beginning of "Rap Music" was not really representative of Darkie's sound. And I think at some point in one of his "keep an eye on this artist" type videos he said something about Darkie's fresh take on music.

I'm almost 50,and my girlfriend's son listens to Darkie in the car,and I think it's the same most creative music I've ever heard. I am even planning on going to the Cleveland show in November to see what that's like. The lyrics are intelligent, and interesting. I grew up on gangster rap and punk rock so I'm hard to offend, but I don't see it as him doing it to be offensive. Make no mistake about it, there's a brain behind what that kid is doing and it makes me happy to know I can retire and the young people are still making this boundary pushing, interesting music.

I personally really like his music, I like listening to it on full blast with my headphones in at 3 AM and just staring at my ceiling

i remember first discovering him as brahman and i'm so glad he's finally getting his recognition while still remaining a real human being and sticking with his friends. he really is a phenomenon

I didn’t know how much he’s grown. I remember hearing his song in a skateboarding montage. Like seeing that in February/March of 2020 and seeing his growth now is pretty incredible

In my opinion, I think he doesn’t deserve to be cancelled. He doesn’t mean the slurs, and he’s worked up his career for so long. He grew as a rapper being known for a edgy and violent kind of rap, and just for some new listeners to not understand this, it’s stupid.
