He is who he is. His life is what it has been. If you don’t like him, don’t watch him. I happen to like him, so I’ll watch his movies.

Did this person just say Ryan gosling can’t act ?😂 she ever seen half nelson? Place behind the pines drive blade runner place beyond the pines nice guys etc gosling is great lol
@ToatsMcGoatsO02 ай бұрын
I dunno, could be he's had a helping hand, but I think he's a really good actor, not just competent, so at least it's not a case where it's undeserved. Also maybe growing up with family members in the arts makes going into that area more realistic and something that is achievable, rather than say growing up in a working class background where no one around you is doing things like that so it's harder to even envision that for yourself. He was amazing in dune part II, that part is kinda like, or could have been like Luke Skywalker or harry potter, kind of broad diliberately vague, easy to put yourself into the shoes of, but he brought an intensity to it that I was impressed by.

Another person who has never read Dune. Both movie versions were sad, inferior and practically unwatchable to those who have read and fallen in love with Frank Herbert’s creation.
@dizzydrummer-bi7br2 ай бұрын
The Dune movies are mega dull, and Chalamet sleepwalks through the movies with this lost angsty look on his face as if he were in a teen angst coming of age movie. Yet reviewers love these films, possibly the most artificially hyped films ever, and people fall for it because there is very little else out there these days.

Why would this even be a question? Of course. I would say that 90% of popular talent in the industry had connections and were forced into us.
@stephaniemoore91222 ай бұрын
No connections can take u just do far if u can’t do the job u don’t get it. U R wrong about Chalamet. He wanted to be a Broadway actor. He made it big ish on Homeland he got more work from that He got Homeland bc the casting directors go to Performing Art schools to find the young actors they select who they want that’s how he really got started. U R just projecting envy onto him. He graduated top of his class everyone knew he was going to make it in Laquadia HS He was also selected by John Patrick Shanley himself who wrote the book Prodigal Son TC won the Lucille Lortell Award for best new Actor. The stage play was produced by Ridley Scott (famous Hollywood director/ writer). That’s how he got noticed. In the audience( this is NYC) Is Greta Gerwig & Noah Burnbach. 2 of Hollywood’s big writer directors. Timothee’s agent who he hired himself got him the meeting with Luca Guadinino TC had lunch they talked & he got the lead in CMBYN. BC he was perfect for it & has dual citizenship & speaks French that’s how he got his start he was the youngest the youngest to be nominated for an Oscar in 86 yrs he is talented. All directors want to work with him He actually rejected the agent his mother wanted him to use. He wanted to do it on his own.

Did you know many scholars consider that envy is the key of the Ten Commandments, underlying the other nine? Of course, some malcontents will share your cynicism. One cultural observer has labeled commentators like you the modern "masters of suspicion." You are showing envy, poor taste, and terrible judgment. He did not grow up rich, just with a potential talent. He did not choose his relatives. He found what he wanted to do with his life, he has smartly promoted himself, he works very hard, and he shows quite a bit of gratitude. He is showing a remarkable range of acting skills and he has a ton of fans. Get over it. Watch what he makes of his talents.

Ryan Gosling can't act? Blue Valentine alone proves otherwise.

Half Nelson is great too. Drive defiantly had him in the role of loner characters who say very little, but he’s still great in that. He was also very good in La La Land. Ryan Gosling is an excellent actor, but I guess since he played the strong silent type very well, a lot of people see him as that now.

Still have time to "revise" the RGosling claim made herein
@darj617Ай бұрын
The claim about his industry ties seem a bit exaggerated. It's not like his mother is Kathleen Kennedy and his father Steven Spielberg. Sure, his family likely has connections but how powerful can a former broadway dancer and a low level director uncle can be for him to sky rocket to the top of the A list? Yes, some actors are chosen for stardom, but he is also attractive and quite popular with young girls, so there is a fan base there that he brings to any project he is involved in.
@tonigillette9217Ай бұрын
The industry's nepotism goes deeper than this. Awful B flicks are cast with the children of people in the business. Many are tasteful enough to change their surname to minimize the incestuous aspect, but a viewer can figure out the family lineage by their features, voices and mannerisms. Soon, the age of "competence" as worthiness will do its final strio tease and audiences will soon lose any link to what we once called "talent" and the competition that nurtures and breeds it.
