My grandfather used to say he was Tarahumara, but back when I was a kid I didn't understand what he meant (he would say it in Spanish, and while I spoke it, the reference to "Tarahumara" didn't mean anything to me). What a great tradition...to be a people who are world-class long-distance runners. I am not a runner, but it's good to know one's heritage.
