Ah another one I worked on. Silverspike here (changed names, don't ask lol). Stephen Mansfield and I made all the Heamavores including the Ancient one, and it was clothed by our friend Robert Allsopp who still works on modern Who to this day. Originally designed by in house costume designer Ken Trew we managed to have a bit of wriggle room with them, especially when it came to the look of the Ancient One. We also managed to go out on location for a couple of the seaside locations which made a bit of a change. Really enjoyed working on this and was pleased the whole production didn't look half bad in the end. Glad to hear you thought so too.

This was my first Seventh Doctor story, years ago they had a medley of classic Doctor Who on Netflix and I absolutely loved it. Even when it was a culmination of various plot threads I never felt lost or confused, and it was my first step into my favorite classic Doctor.

i remember classic who on netflix too. i think it was one story from each season maybe? thats how i first watched this story (my favorite of all time) and also spearhead from space i think. I also saw alot from the "Classic Who on BBC America" block. Thats how i saw Logopolis, Pyramids of Mars, and Genesis.

I just saw it for the first time. I was so confused I downloaded a transcript and stopped to read, but it's a trade off, you know. Watching Doctor Who stoned makes it hard to follow the plot, but it REALLY makes it a profoundly immersive experience. When the crippled man stood up I felt chills, and there were many, many more to come. And I did something I've only done a handful of times watching dramatic performances. I cried. This and Remembrance of the Daleks and I'm glad I'm finally getting around to watching old Radaghast the Brown's run as the Doctor. I just couldn't slog through Colin Baker's last season or keep myself from cringing at the garish Mel Bush!

@@satum__As far as I remember, the Classic stories on American Netflix were - The Aztecs - The Mind Robber - Spearhead from Space - The Three Doctors - Carnival of Monsters - The Green Death - The Ark in Space - Pyramids of Mars - Horror of Fang Rock - The Ribos Operation - The Pirate Planet - The Androids of Tara - The Power of Kroll - City of Death - The Leisure Hive - The Visitation - The Caves of Androzani (maybe, not too sure about this one) - The Curse of Fenric So yeah, very random and no Colin Baker. I might have forgotten something (and I'm really not sure if Androzani was there or not), but I absolutely do remember being rather irritated about The Stones of Blood and The Armegeddon Factor not being included.

I was a 90s kid who grew up watching classic who. Seven will always be MY doctor. In fact, during the 90s, I still felt like he WAS the doctor. It would be like if Jodie Whittaker was taken off TV and never recast... you'd still feel her presence. I know we had the TV movie but our family never really bothered with it as we didn't even consider it canon (although 2005 onwards we 100% did and I personally love Paul McGann). Sylvester can be a bit over the top now and then but I honestly think he was born for this role. It's really understated how he can switch from being a clown to this scary ass chess master in a flash. Amazing!

Imagine a modern Who story where Fenric possesses a companion, like Graham for instance.

The Curse of Fenric has been my favourite classic Who story since I watched it as a kid back in 1989. Gave me nightmares for literally years. I’ve never understood why this one is so overlooked.

Love it! One of my favourite seventh doctor stories. Keep doing these please, as it gives me an excuse to catch up on stories I haven't seen too, and it's always interesting to hear your thoughts about the ones I like and the ones I don't. It'd be great to see you tackle the key to time series. I love Romana 1 and she never gets enough coverage in my opinion!

Saw this for the first time at the BFI event and really enjoyed it. Very atmospheric and great character development for Ace.

The best McCoy story by far and the way they wanted the character to go if the show had returned ,making him more dark and mysterious ....

Yeah this story really hit the right vibes for me too. When I started watching classic who I like a lot of the story structure of Classic Who but this one this one definitely took the classic who’s story structure it knocked it out of the park. I’d suggest for Classic Who would be Key of Time Saga. That’s a fun one. Another would be the Movie. It’s campy fun for me at least. Hopefully we’ll see more reviews from you. Stay safe

In some ways its a real shame that Ace is so influential on nWho companions because so many of them turn out to be crap clones of her or attempts to make an ordinary human into something special. No... just no... Ace is the only human to graduate from the Time academy. You don't get much more special than that and you should stop trying. Also nWho needs to stop with the gormless humans already. 1 Non human regular companion in over 15 years is taking the piss. Doubly so that he's also the only non contemporary companion.

This is my all time favorite ever and there's so much more to be said about this. Just saw it, going to scour youtube for every conceivable discussion. Helps that I'm into communism, strong women, and bottled monsters. I mean I literally thought I was being highly original when I put one in a story I wrote. I mean the writing in this is like something I would have come up with but WAY better. Character, character, character... not much left in the franchise, I pity.
