Long story short Desmond was supposed to become a Master Assassin in the Modern day through the Bleeding effect,it was getting to the point that at times he didn't need the animus lol this is why in AC 3 you see that he is so strong and skilled dude went straight to abstergo with no gun and basically beat abstergo lol. The other part is that Desmond was supposed to become more skilled with each assassin ancestor that he would live as in the animus to the point to where he could time travel or something along the lines of that, there was even a supposed plot to where Desmond and Lucy go to space and BTW Lucy was written off because Ubisoft didn't want to pay the Voice actor better who was played by the actress Kristen Bell so they wrote her off so I am assuming that she was supposed to play a greater role in the story but she was killed off and so was Desmond and this is why the modernday in AC is such a mess, there is video of where Nolan North who is the Voice Actor of Desmond speaks about the whole Desmond Arc but now they brought Nolan North back as the Reader at the end of Valhalla so we will see what happens lol sorry for the long comment I just wanted to give you context lol.

The fifth cut district is the one on the other side of the river (currently called Rusafa). It was there in the original map of the game (the paper-map which comes with deluxe edition of the game), there are also unfinished houses and buildings, as well as the foundation for a bridge that links the other districts of Baghdad to this cut district.

So I was thinking a monkey companion could be pretty cool. If the monkey could say steal keys, deliver messages or parcels, pickpocket loot, etc. Plus parkour options to reach unreachable areas like locked doors or a secret passageway. There's a lot of fun things that could come from this. I just think it's a really cool idea!

Well the devs got a lot of their inspiration for mirage from older AC games like the ezio trilogy for example which funny enough I'm replaying now. I'd say it's definitely worth a try

It disappoints me that most ac players either don’t care for or hate the modern day entirely. I think it’s beautiful that we can combine science fiction with historical fiction and slap a linguistic bow on it sometimes. But many many players don’t see that beauty and now I’m pretty sure Ubisoft is looking for a way to kill it.

a reason they could have cut the modern day part was b/c qubec or montreal or whoever is in charge of modern day now which will now only be apart of the infinity hub an not in the base game. I bet they didnt want that in the game as then they would have needed to try and continue the story somehow an ig they didnt want the work or Boudreau didnt want to leave the story off with this type of cliffhanger.

I start this game couple of days ago and i enjoy every second of playing it. Im thinking how stupid they are not giving this team more time and money to expand this world with huge potential. It cld be one of the best AC game ever. Stealth have great foundation. Combat had to be reworked. The fact that Mirage initially reminded me of Aladdin made me like it even more. Aladdin's my favorite Disney movie. What I would love in an AC game: - MUCH harder and more aggressive enemies, with a variety of attacks. The enemy AI is braindead in every AC game. - Faster, less clunky movement. - A JUMP BUTTON. This would fix SO MANY problems with movement in AC. Overall, get movement feeling more like Ghost of Tsushima. - Better facial animations during cutscenes. - More characterization of the main enemies. You go around assassinating people but you don't really know anything about them. - Get rid of the bird and x-ray vision. - Stronger, more emotional storytelling. - More environmental storytelling.

I agree with most points but I don't think eagle vision and literal eagle vision (where you Control the bird) should be removed. AC was the first game to use it ,and I feel like eagles are a key part of the creed now. Especially since the AC symbol is modeled after an eagle skull (in the last cutscene of AC origins). I do, however believe they should rely on them less and focus more on environmental storytelling and clues instead of making everything glow blue when you press a button. Also it's quite nice to scout an area with the eagle, even if you can't do much other than mark enemy location.

“More characterization of the main enemies” gets a HELL YEAH from me. They actually used to do this correctly until they decided to make them all random NPCs again like the first games. I don’t want to investigate who my target is. I want to know him long and well before I know he is a target. Black Flag was absolutely perfect in this regard. Every single target was well introduced and this made the Templars so much more interesting. Same for AC3, and Rogue, and Unity to a small degree. Such a shame they ditched this again starting with Syndicate.

There was one other feature you'd missed, in the Pre-Alpha cut originaly Basim was not featured, INSTEAD there was a CHOICE to play premade Hidden Ones characters as either Male or Female. That was ultimately scrapped and replaced for Basim's story.

I'm glad the dog feature got removed and appreciate a lot of the developers love animals as well. I hate killing animals in games. It was hard having to hunt so many foxes in AC Valhalla for the hunting deliveries, while they never once attacked me. Even wolves and chickens I hated killing.
