I'm recognizing so many cultural references in this game to Japanese folklore, and I'm so happy. For starters, the soot bunnies and the paper doll cutout things in the Dragon's library (they look exactly the same as those in Spirited Away)

I love how it would take very little effort to turn this into a Touhou game (aside from doing the art for all of the characters in this style). It's just that lighthearted and directly based on the folklore, that there were less than five characters/enemies in this entire video that didn't immediately click with an equivalent for me. Like the Bridge Princess, her visual design is completely unlike Parsee but the personality is just perfect for this kind of humor.

I believe Nine Sols is Taiwanese skurry did play it for one stream, and didn't like it because it was too combat focused for them and they didn't get far enough for the platforming to open up I agree it's spectacular, it's a shame but skurry probably won't play it again
