Love the fish… remind me of the karp in a ping in my gear-great grandmothers backyard pond. It was a tiny pond; they grow to be HUGE even in a small space. Gorgeous creatures. My first memory in my life was poking at the fish with a stick, to see the reaction. Forgive me, I was only three or four years old. The memory was “anchored” by the scent of fennel, naturally growing near the pond. TY, Rossmann.

Can confirm that cleaning out that filter is going to suck... My Dad had me do it in the Texas summer heat way back when, but he used a euphemism for the fish poop - I believe he called it "algae and plant waste." I was knee deep in the muck and still processing the scintillating aromas wafting up from the "decomposing leaves, leftover fish food and decaying plant material" when I realized I was standing in literal shit. I told my Dad, "that ain't algae." He laughed.
