We didn't really know anything about birds until we got a parakeet, and it started talking. Then, he started kissing us. Now, we have another parakeet to keep him more company and a cockatoo. The cockatoo loves playing with toys and cuddle time, but our parakeet is the big kisser and big talker!

I lived close to Santa Barbara, CA at the time. There was a pet store that had a cockatoo. They would never sell him because he had been abused and they claimed he was damaged goods. Every time I went in there I petted him through the cage. He never bit me and was craving love. Love can do wonders.

TheCoolProfessor Don't know why, but I never realised you could have such a wonderful bond with a bird. I watch a lot of the cockatoos on YT. I love their different personalities. The "conversations" the cuddles, the mischief!!! I'm hooked!

Ricky Ricardo I know people who've said they're only this or they're only that, as if they don't have feelings and emotions and intelligence of their own. I've shown videos to some of them but they just don't get it. They judge on just a few seconds. They laugh at me for my "obsession"! Who are the ones missing out here? I must admit though, as I've said in a reply, that I didn't realise the depth of affection you could get from a bird, and I'm not belittling these beautiful creatures in any way at all. I've learnt so much about them, and have been reduced to tears of emotion many times. I'm too late in years to have any pet, plus I travel around a lot, so these videos are priceless to me.

I think the reason that humans hate on each other is because of financial and other differences. You're not gonna be jealous of an animal, but can become jealous or hateful towards more successful people. In short, we look at other humans as competition, whereas animals cannot compete on an intellectual level.

I have been watching every video that I can find of Gotcha. Clearly, he has stolen my heart. I have long known that almost any creature is capable of warmth and affection. What a sweet and gentle bird. I've been watching Gotcha for a few days. He's helped me relax. Which is what I've been needing to do since my hubby and I had a car accident. A man running away from the cops, going 85 miles per hour, at night, his car was dark color, and he rigged his headlights so they were off. We couldn't see him at all. He rearended us on the passenger side. My hubby got a concussion, and I was on the passenger side, so I got 3 cracked ribs, 2 broken vertabrae, and minor liver trauma. So thank you for these videos. I also work in the ER and we get volunteer animals that come to visit patients, and they do help people heal.
