THE CUTEST TOWN ON EARTH! Diamond Hill Mine • Saxon's Hotdogs • Downtown Abbeville, SC

On this week's episode of Travels with Tommy and Lori, we take you rock hounding in Diamond Hill Mine, a natural quartz and beryl 'dig-your-own' mine located in Abbeville, SC (The CUTEST town on earth). From there, we eat lunch at the famous Saxon's Hotdogs and then stroll around downtown to walk off literally the best hotdogs we've ever eaten. Abbeville is worth the trip and we highly recommend if you're looking for a cool little place to visit on the weekends, you give it a try.

That old fashioned hotel on the square is great, actually a Bed and Breakfast. Can stay there to go to one of the plays at the Opera House.

Love my Hometown! When I was a kid I would walk to Saxons to eat their hot dogs and pulled pork sandwich! Best ever!

I've lived all over the place, but Tommy was born and still has a lot of family, in the Rock Hill SC area, even though he grew up in NC. Honestly, if I could pick my place right now, it'd be the Abbeville or the Westminter areas of SC area...Both are beautiful and the people were wonderful. I love Atlanta but our area just outside of there has exploded in the last few years and is barely recognizable. I know progress is great, and I do love city life when I want to visit Atlanta, but I prefer the trees and the wildlife farther out. Thank you for your comment! ❤

1916 the entire town of Abbeville participated in the the torture and murder of black business man, Anthony Crawford. All involved got off scott free. The families of the murders may still even resided in the town to this day.

You're going to find similar stories pretty much everywhere. I live in Forsyth County. What was done to the Oscarville Community here in 1912 was horrible and it was wrong. That said, the reason people don't heal from past tragedies is because they're holding on to that past. The people alive now aren't responsible for their ancestors deeds any more than you or I are. What I saw in Saxon's that day and in the town square, was people of all colors enjoying their community and it's amazing food.
