Incredible revelation! At the time I was suffering with PTSD after experiencing a traumatic event as an adult in addition to hurtful experiences growing up, I took these steps to heal and rewire my brain through self examination, then applying new action-habits till this day, such as workout, meditation-worship,, breathing techniques, learning new skills, as outlined by Dr. Caroline Leaf. As a result, I am fully healed. PTSD and Depression gone!! And always tell myself "I am the happiest person alive!"

I've been a social worker for 30 years. I currently work at a psych hospital as a clinical therapist. I've been watching different podcasts to learn more about psychology etc. This is amazing. I've been teaching my clients that an hour a week of individual therapy and psych meds is not enough. This is what everyone should be learning. Thank you!!!

22:35 5 steps of reconstruction or resilience. 1. Gather awareness in your mind your body, your soul and your stomach. 2. Reflect on the awareness: ask why at those 4 spots. 3. Write out a mind map of the awareness. 4. Find the patterns, and the triggers. 5. Take action by affirming or breathing

Thank you Ed for having Dr. Caroline Leaf back on! She is extremely smart, knowledgeable , eloquent (and I love her accent) and absolutely phenomenal! A thought is a cluster of memories. There are 2 types of memories: source memories(roots of the plant) and interpretation memories(branches). Mind is comprised of 3 main levels: conscious(soul level), nonconscious(spirit level), and subconscious which connects the other two levels.[unconscious is asleep] Behind the scenes it's all electric fields and energy connection. The neuro cycle is absolutely ingenius and I loved your(Ed's) input that it's a perfect recipe to make changes in one's life. Change takes a minimum of 3 months unless there are extreme traumatic events it can take longer. The neuro cycle sets a strategy for people to manage their mind and it consists of 5 stages:1. Gathering awareness about one's feelings and situation-introspection. 2.Reflection on one's feelings-WHY am I feeling this way? 3.Writing it all down using a metacog which resembles a tree, throw it down on paper 4.What are my triggers? What are my patterns? RECONSTRUCTION 5. Active reach-take action-statement/affirmation/visualization/breathing technique etc. We need to feel empowered and to develop psychological immunity which will allow us to pull out of traumatic situations. Thanks Ed for asking about medications and when it's ok to meds. I remember the previous show you did with Dr. Caroline Leaf during the corona and she was in a hotel room(there was an issue with the reception...) I ordered her book and unfortunately never got around to reading it. The past year and a half I had two big T traumas in my life: both my parents were diagnosed with colon cancer and passed away 10 months apart. Thank God I have strong faith, a very supportive family and wonderful friends so I'm dealing with the loss relatively well, with crying bouts that come and go. I think I've become extremely resilient over the years thanks to many life challenges I've been through . I always try to take it to a positive place: Everything happens for a reason so what is this trying to teach me? What is positive about this(even if it seems there is nothing positive at the moment)? "In the long run this will mean...for my life". How do I use this challenge to improve my future and help others? Thanks Ed for all you do for the world, thanks Dr, Caroline Leaf for sharing from her genius and thank God for the internet to get these messages out to the world #MAXOUT from Israel

This is so amazing. And I didn't know I've done some of the things she mentions. For years, every time I find myself in a situation that gets me angry, I first react to it. Then I talk about it with God. I feel bad about my reaction, but next time it happens I react the same negative way. Until I recognize that it's not their (people) problem. It's mine. And I'm the one who should take charge and change. So, what I do is I visualize myself in that situation, because I know it's going to happen again, and not because I predispose myself, but because it's something that people do and ticks me off. Anyway, so I ask myself "how are you going to react next time it happens?" I visualize myself with a positive reaction. I take myself step by step in my visualization. Then I decide to put myself in that situation on purpose to check my reaction, and something beautiful happens. Every time I've done this, in different situations, I have no reaction. I free myself from negative emotions and thoughts. I don't even pay attention to what people do anymore, in those situations. They don't move me. FYI, I'm going through another situation right now, but I'm working on it. One victory at a time :)

Such a great interview. I catch Dr. Leaf every chance I get and she delivers again. I have her app on my phone. So many "gurus" of change focus on your "Why" and ignore/dismiss the "How." The Neurocycle is the how, and will get results a hell of a lot faster.

17:40 When I moved back to my hometown. I met old friends. Friends I grew up with. They would say, Remember when we did...? I said. I don't remember it. It's blank. Nothing there. And it was a pretty big thing. Yet it is gone. So what happened? Where I moved to had nothing in common from where I moved from. My friends every so often would reconnect stimulated by something in our town. Keeping that memory alive. I moved away. Slowly my brain pruned it. Another thing. I did not live in the past. I do now share my life with people.

At age Six a near drowning has given me a second chance at a normal life. It shocked my brain, moving me from a passive state to an active state. When I arrived home five days later. I would begin a whole new life. I walked out the front door into a new world. It was day one on earth. My mental state was somewhere between a newborn and a One year old. Without any past memories. I stepped outside and what I can tell is this. There are two systems inside us. One handles navigation. The other system handles the collecting of data. Which is likely why we say, We have a soul and a spirit. Imagine, waking up at birth without any awareness yesterday happened and this behavior would last for a lifetime. What my parents did next kept me from watching tv, having toys, knowing about things like Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, Birthday, and no friends. The mind is silent all the time. When a thought happens, action is taken. Thoughts are not meant to have us stop and think. The more we feed our brain. The more thoughts we will have and most thoughts will not serve a purpose. Once a thought happens, from this point on it's a series of impulses that moves you to the end. Fulfillment. Joy is a byproduct of fulfillment. A young child is always in a state of joy.
