I have a question about laundry- I don't see in a small family (say of 1-3 people) why we would do laundry every day. Is there a reason why you say a load of laundry a day.... I usually only have 2-3 loads a week tops to do. Is there something else other than laundry that would be better to put in?

I reset rooms before I leave them, even if I’m likely to come back. I reset my front porch furniture and living room pillows, etc. Then when someone stays overnight, I’m going behind them to reset the room. My friend stayed over the other night, and she set her dishes in the sink! I wanted to say, “In this house, we put our dishes straight into the dishwasher.” But I held back. 😊

The idea of creating a starting point system works for me. In my season of life, I live in a small apartment, I make my bed as soon as I stand up, takes about 1 minute. Next is the kitchen, in the time it takes the microwave to make a cup of tea, I can tidy the counters and put away any dishes left to dry. I habitually straighten the sofa pillows and hang up my clothes, so I don’t have that kind of clutter. It takes mere minutes to get the whole apartment presentable. Having a starting point is excellent, eliminates decision making, which would take longer than doing it! The things I do when I get my day started have been automatic. The system works! Thank you for doing what you do.

I found doing laundry once, or twice, a week works best for us. I designate a day, start early, and get it done. The one load a day method, for me, was the each-load-got-forgotten method. A lot less stress to have a laundry day. Perhaps this method might work better for others, too.

I’ve spent my whole afternoon listening to your videos today while I meal prepped, did laundry (washed, dried, and folded as soon as it came out of the dryer), and have been eliminating food waste while cleaning out the fridge during meal prep. For someone with ADHD that usually can’t stay on task with anything it helped me do that as well as think about other areas in my home I may need to go back and revisit. I also like the “giving yourself permission to just let it go” as I grew up in a save it for later because it cost money home as a kid and always felt overwhelmed by stuff (although my parents did keep it all really organized.

I am a HUGE procrastinater. HUGE! But the 5 minute matters rule has really helped me. The 5 minutes is really achievable for me. And the bonus is that when I've done my 5 minutes I haven't finished the task I started. But I know exactly what task I will be finishing during my next 5 minutes. This stops me worrying about a huge space as a whole and makes me m9re likely to fit in the 5 minute blocks. It's working for me so far!

Who knew that the 5 minute timer would be the trick to getting on the path to a decluttered house?!! One drawer, one shelf, one trash bag or donation box at a time! Genius!! Thanks so much for the time, effort and love you put into creating videos for all of us. P.S. LOVE the BLUE top that brings out your eyes - striking!

I am getting better at cleaning the countertops in the evening. It's so much easier and I sleep better. Reducing the dishes in the kitchen is taking a little more time than I expected but I will get there.

Thank you so much. You can’t imagine how much your videos have helped me. I’ve learned that it’s not all going to happen overnight but with time and patience I’ll get it under control.

I started a routine to clean the kitchen after dinner a couple of months ago. That is my minimum that I try to do every day. If I feel okej I set a timer for 30 minutes and clean. That's enough time for me to get ahead and get to deep cleaning and decluttering. I listen to podcasts. That really helps me to look forward to doing it. It feels less and less intimidating.

Thank you, once again. I am using my Frog Planner Habit Tracker page to help me build a Daily 3 cleaning routine. This is a great video, I just cleared my desktop and decluttered two messy drawers... a big win!!! Grateful for your help and encouragement.

Thank you so much, best decluttering video I’ve seen, I’ve just started doing a bit each day, because I’ve realised I’ve been waiting for a full day free to do it and putting it off because I didn’t think I had enough time to start, and it wasn’t getting me anywhere😛 Just subscribed 👍🏻 Sending good wishes from Australia 🫶

I did the unthinkable this morning. I decluttered my Tupperware/plastic containers. I must have had 40-50 items. 🤢🤢. My sister came by snd I asked her if she needed any. She took ALL of it. I said do you have room for this, she says I’ll make room. I need to direct her to your channel, she wouldn’t be as appreciative!!

Dawn, Is there an issue with your audio/microphone? The last couple of videos have been really quiet. In this video, one example of the audio quality difference is when you switch from what you recorded for this video and what you had prerecorded as the ad. One place you can clearly hear the difference is between 6:30 and 6:42 if you need a short sample.

Thank you - I know I have reached ‘decision fatigue’ when I go into my bedroom and see boxes of stuff that I had to fill again when I reached the level of - can’t think anymore 😅- it can wait till after my vacation to Austria 🇦🇹 to see my mother- then I’ll have some fresh motivation ( cause I don’t want my place to end up looking like hers lol) and right now I enjoyed coming home after work and entering my living room- nice and tidy 😊thanks as always for all your time to put these videos together 👍
