I don't think that's entirely true. I think there are a lot of places where the line between what he's doing and what he's criticizing gets blurred. For instance, the parts where he's interviewing people in India (or being interviewed) are in particularly bad taste, and don't quite resonate with the tone in other parts (the joke about Apu, for instance, which I rather liked). Does this make any sense?

He is a comedian, and this is intended to be a mockery after all. In addition, I think a little hyperbole and overgeneralize doesn't hurt that much. Furthermore, we don't really know that are these people informed that they are being interview for a sketch, thus, we can't really reach any conclusion whether he is mocking them personally.

I think where I disagree with you is the part about over-generalization - there are some hilarious jokes waiting to be made WITHOUT the generalization (and John Oliver's making them, over at HBO). +MoronSoldier 2014 is an anomaly. Higher vote turnout is linked with a belief in the political process; desire for change. Research shows that there is a correlation between a high turnout & anti-incumbency. The last high turnout in India was in the 1984 election after prime minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated, her son Rajiv was elected with a 64% turnout. Yes, 2014 India had the hugest voter turnout ever in its history BUT it's a one off just like the one in 1984. Normally over 40% don't vote.

Just Sa'in You can take a look at the last 3-4 General Elections and see the trend for yourself. The lower voter turnout, and this is ironic, is generally in urban parts of my country. I love this segment. as an Indian it is fascinating to see what are the views of people from other countries about us and also how they handle when their view changes. Also i love the fact that he conducted the interviews standing in a more rural area and then also in CP and took different view points instead of just showing the rural side which is usually what the people from other countries stereotype us as.
