@@ptgia1301 Danganronpa 2: goodbye despair, Danganronpa 3 anime: despair arc in SDR2 monokuma mentions the death count of 2,357 as a mass suicide and it can be assumed that it adds up to 2,359 based on Twilight Syndrome explained also in the game. included despair arc because the suicides and twilight syndrome actually play out during it, but I'm not sure if they say the number in that too

Munakata being just a sad Markiplier fan would have been a better character arc and on-brand with the kookiness of Danganronpa and his character resolution is that he watches Jacksepticeye instead, like it's revealed that Ireland is one of the only functioning countries after the Tragedy.
