Thank you for all your nice comments. I am not the author of the speech. I am an actor who was hired to deliver the speech. I was told to deliver it sort of stilted, but still understandable. Hope you liked it! To the person who posted this, where did you get it? I've been looking for this video since I recorded it 10 years ago. lol

Hi, I am a professor at a college in Michigan. I downloaded this recording from an instructor’s companion disk to the textbook. I assigned your speech many times as homework to students so I made it available on KZbin. How funny you found it! You did an excellent job 😊

Funny thing about this is that this isn't a 6 minute speech. It's a 4 minute speech but spoken clearly and paced softly enough to take up the time smoothly. Not a bad thing, since it shows clear thought into the practice of the speech rather than just the construction.

This is a very good speech, but near the end, she says, ' I'm sure you can't imagine being without it'. Why is that? That's interesting because I hardly use my phone, and only look at it maybe 3-4 times a day. I don't sleep with it, and I definitely don't have it as 'a companion'. I'm not trying to be critical, but I do hope others can find ways to be less dependent on their cell phones one day.

I hate to burst your bubble, but the radiowaves that are produced by cellphones do not cause cancer... X-rays have a higher frequency than radiowaves and that has a risk of causing cancer but radio waves do not pose the risk of causing cancer. Even if this were true, we are constantly surrounded by radio waves on a daily basis via wireless connection... using your cell phone an inch further from your face isn't gonna help. The potential damage from radiowaves you state comes from the fact that higher frequency radiowaves such as microwaves can damage tissue through heat however it does not damage DNA. The radiowaves from cellphones are significantly lower in frequency compared to microwaves, rendering them harmless.
