I have always had a soft spot for this film. It was the darkest that Freddy had ever been in the series until later on in life when New Nightmare was released. The acting in this film was great too.

I always loved the "Freddy's Revenge" VHS art. I never looked too hard at it, but as a kid I thought Freddy was standing in the woods or something. Looking at it now, it looks like he's standing in flames. I always loved the sequel, it's a really dark movie and I love that.

Great video CHH. I absolutely love this movie. My introduction to Nightmare was the dream child 😂 I consider it a miracle that I went back and watched the other films. Freddy’s revenge is top ten horror of all time for me.

It is one of the most underrated horror sequels of all time, in my opinion. I love the bus ride from hell and the pool party massacre. Freddy is no joke in this film.

This is almost exactly how I became a horror fan. I too started with A Nightmare on Elm Street 2. I had always been allowed to watch Classic horror, but not scary horror. Until this one came out on video and my older brother rented it.

he wanders to a gay bar, finds his gym teacher, who then instead of being afraid because it was the 80s, the gym teacheer takes him to the school to run laps then freddy rips the gym teachers cloths off. its super ghey.

I’ve been a fan of the genre and this franchise since 4th grade. I grew up with the big three. I have ALWAYS been a Nightmare 2 fan. You take or leave the sexuality stuff, but I’ve always loved it as a horror fan. My two favorite scenes are “You’ve got the body, I’ve got the brain” and Freddy busting out of Jesse (Alien chest buster style) and killing Grady.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 2, definitely Freddy at his most evil. Absolutely love this movie. I was introduced to horror at a very early age, and seen many before I probably should have. This was one of the ones that stuck with me through my early school years. Every time we had a substitute bus driver who was a guy, I always had the bus scene on my mind. On later rewatches after being in my teens, I started seeing it as more than just the average scary movie and grew a deeper appreciation for it. The whole gay subtext reveal was actually news to me, but it didn't change my enjoyment for the movie.

NOES 2 is one of the few movies where you get to see an original 1970's International Loadstar full-size school bus in action. Savor that bus scene, there are none of them running in the United States now. All you see now are those Thompson Bluebird school buses. There is a short video on youtube where a flatbed tow truck dredged one up out of a junkyard somewhere, that's all that remains of those iconic school buses from my early childhood which were so much fun to ride.

My introduction to Nightmare on Elm Street was seeing a brief clip on TV way back in 1987. I was told to go turn the TV off and what I saw I think was either Part 4 or 5. A spooky hallway is leading you to something even more horrific. When I bought the Nightmare Encyclopedia DVD boxset, I marathoned all of the movies. Something about that and the way part 7 ended caused me to start seeing Freddy hunting me in my own dreams. The dreams turned to nightmares. The nightmares became night terrors. The night terrors eventually led to sleep apnea and severe sleep deprivation. A shapeshifter demon from another dimension that can pass through different realities. New Line was forced to adapt the LOTR movies to put the genie back in the bottle and then unleashed a whole different can of worms. The House that Freddy built became the House that Freddy owned. How do you truly defeat a shapeless demon that escaped the Void? Try to make everyone forget it ever existed by changing what your company's leading moneymaker franchise is. LOTR is too big to fail and sent New Line to the top of the world. The genie in the bottle is now captured by Sauron. LOTR gave birth to today's self-aware, self-loathing attack-everything pop culture. There is truly no way to bring the scary essence of Freddy back in today's pop culture. We're all stuck and sinking in the fetid ranking mire playing with our own excrement. That is where we are.

I love Freddy's Revenge but I still maintain that most of what is deemed subtext is circumstantial at best. Was the Probe game even Jesse's? Lisa finds Nancy's diary in the closet that Jesse wasn't aware of. Maybe the game was Nancy's as well. My favorite, though, is when Jesse is with Lisa and starts turning into Freddy. He has two choices. Stay with her knowing that he may very well hurt her. Or, he can go to his jock friend who might be able to keep Jesse in check. Somehow, not wanting anything to happen to Lisa gets twisted into Jesse's struggling with his sexuality. No, he's struggling with possession.

The Director acknowledged in the documentary "Never Sleep Again" that he was kinda going for gay subtext. Having said that I never thought about it LOL. And no, Grady wasn't gay.

Yeah, but he also claimed to have been oblivious to any subtext after its release. Either way, I view it as sort of dark precursor to Freddy's Dead and Freddy vs Jason. Instead of Jason, possesing Jesse and using him as a vessel to drum up fear in a new batch of kids.

I love this one. My intro to Freddy was FvJ. My dad let me rent it from blockbuster when it came out on dvd. Next one was the remake which I actually like 😂

I first watched at least the school bus part when I was about 4 years old. Scared and facinated me at the same time. To this day part 2 is still the best imo. Gay stuff aside. I just thought those parts were cringey.

It's my favourite of the sequels.but i still hold the original as the best.the humour was between the dialogue of the teenage characters.when freddy became the joker from then on,it didn't do it for me.

It took a while for the second one to grow on me but I got the original series and my friend's local thrift store so I got a lot of the ones that I wanted but the second one still and the third one is my favorite and I also like I like the first one is especially but I also like Freddy's did a lot of people don't like that one either there are fans of the second and other ones that aren't very popular

I REALLY want to love this one but can't. It has some truly great moments but for me it doesn't work as a ANOES film. An 80's possession movie? Absolutely but for me Dream Warriors is the true first sequel.

My feelings on this Freddys Revenge is Freddy is dark but the script is bad it's loaded with logic holes. With that said I think Mark Patton does well for what he was playing and I appreciate that Freddy was still dark.
