It’s going to get much worse. I’m predicting that gambling is going to be pushed in all kinds of new ways. Mini games on social media apps, being able to bet in online multiplayer games, I see it all happening within the next 5 years.

Incorrect about the Black Sox- the 1919 White Sox were called the Black Sox because the owner, Charles Comiskey, charged his players to launder their uniforms so in protest they wouldnt wash them, which quickly made them not look very white at all and sportswriters who were obsessive about nicknames in that time game them the Black Sox moniker, that then stuck as a legacy nickname due to them being "redacted" as a team.

They were the “black sox” before the World Series. The name comes from the players uniforms not being washed because the owner was cheap lmao.

shane pinto for the ottawa senators in the NHL got suspended for 41 games (half a season) last season for gambling on games that were in completely different sports and leagues, no NHL games. the major leagues aren't messing around when it comes to players gambling on sports.

My twist on the already known theory: MJ was betting on himself/the Bulls and that’s why he “retired”. His competitive drive didn’t come from a desire to be great at basketball, he was just trying to win his bets. He loved gambling a lot more than he loved basketball. I don’t think he was doing crooked stuff like throwing games or taking bribes, but I do think he was taking his points over and betting on his team to win/cover.

These names don't "sound familiar" because you didn't pronounce them correctly. There's only been 1000 of movies/docs/youtube videos where the names "Rick Kuhn" and "Lucchese family" are pronounced properly

Yeah which is BS. The Indians want total exclusivity in WI so they’re basically shutting out DK, FD etc., forcing people to drive to their lands to bet. I’m hoping the state legislature gets tired of this because I know they’d like to access to broader market and taxes that come with it. Basically the Indians are the gaming mob here.

I mean, athletes are people. And cash rules....wait, this guy just glossed over that racist comic strip talkin about the sox scandal? Interesting. Anyways, i know these guys make a lotta money but athletes spend like crazy. And when you have a bet depending on how much you score or dont score, things are gonna happen. And this doesnt take consideration how little yesteryear's athletes were paid.
