It's almost like Batman was created by both the dark side of Gotham and the bright side. Seems very poetic :) Edit: fixed the name. At the time of posting this comment I had just gotten myself a new phone so the autocorrect was on by default and it must've kept auto-correcting Gordon to Gordan, I'm aware that his name is Gordon. Also thank you all for the likes I didn't think that something I posted years ago would end up having so many, this is probably the highest amount of likes that I've ever gotten from any of my comments.

+TheReaper5125 That is not true. Not a single character in the Nolan movies looks like their comic book counter parts. Maybe Gordon and somewhat Alfred. I think that is what made Nolan so great, making a comic book movie but detaching himself completely from the orignal source material. It gives us a great new look on character we love. Nolan is one of my fav adaptation even if it has extremely little in common with the original source. The most faithful adaptation of the ORIGINAL comics is Adam West. However, the 90' batman cartoon is still the closest thing you will get to the comics in a general sense.
@TheReaper51258 жыл бұрын
+Celine Lanaro I don't really know how accurate it is to the comics but what I know for sure is that Nolan's trilogy covers everything on the Batman and Gotham ... maybe even better than the comics ever did. From Bruce Wayne's past, the workings of Wayne Enterprises, politics in Gotham, Bruce's mentality, his character development, his evolution into the Batman, how he juggles his life as a billionaire and a crime fighter, how his gear is covered for .... the list goes on. The trilogy really made sure to cover all aspects of the Batman, not only the individual, but also society and the surroundings as a whole.
@Mahaka_358 жыл бұрын
TheReaper5125 I agree, Nolan did a fantastic job. I am just saying that it is wrong to say that this the most accurate portrayal because it is greatly different from the original source material. Don't get me wrong, different does not mean inferior or bad. I agree 100% with you saying that this version is part of the very best. I'm just pointing out that the wording you used is not exactly correct. "accurate" being the word I have a problem with, but its just a little thing. But yeah, like you and many others I think this version of Batman is part of the best.

+Colby S - but bro did you even understand this particular scene and how much symbolism it represented itself to Batman and what Batman was and was always trying to do. He tells Gordon he's the Batman in the subtlest way possible and then the flashback and everything..JUST IMAGINE what Gordon felt at that moment (you could obviously hear it in his voice how confused and surprised he is)...he was most likely thinking..."You mean the Orphan Turned to Richest man in Gotham Bruce Wayne was the Batman all along?!" it was probably so incomprehensible to Gordon on why he would sacrifice so much for the people of Gotham if he was Bruce Wayne. Batman tells him that a Hero can be anyone not stating his real identity to Gordon (Gordon in doing so figures out instantly) but chooses in the end not to reveal the Batman's real identity...not because he was hiding anything or covering up ; but more sohe was trying to protect was Batman symbolized cause to protect Batman's identity was to protect the people of Gotham from the truth and to reveal Batman as a human or an idea would destroy everything Batman was .... he was a symbol of hope to the people of Gotham and to that the people of Gotham will change in spite of him being gone. sorry if you thought i took it out of context ... but thats how detailed and epic this 2 min scene was.

Batman: I can get it over the bridge! Catwoman: Set it to fly out over the water, then eject? Batman: No autopilot! You can either view Batman's last line as "No autopilot, I'm screwed!" or "No, autopilot" as in "No, I'm not going to set it to fly over the water and eject, I'm going to use the autopilot" It's the difference between "No autopilot!" and "No, autopilot!" When I was watching this in theaters, in its premiere, I could feel being in that cockpit with Batman. I could feel the cold air and the weight of the bomb. It all felt so real. And all I could think of was "No. No. Nolan, you can't kill my childhood hero. You can't do this". And then tears started streaming down my face, me trying to hold my breath so I wouldn't start crying out. And then the ending scene came up. My jaw dropped. And then the title came up. And I was up with other people, applauding, with the biggest smile on my face. ... I can't even express how much I love Nolan. His films are the only ones for me that can cause such an emotional rollercoaster, to the point you forget you're watching a movie. No, I don't think every of his film is perfect. But damn, they are... they're beyond entertaining. They're something so essential for me.

@arstulex8 жыл бұрын
Contrary to popular belief, nukes can't be detonated from any impact whatsoever. They also can't be detonated in a chain reaction from another bomb. They have to be remote detonated. They don't function like traditional bombs that have explosive materials inside that explode under impact. It has to be armed and triggered manually to detonate... or in this case, triggered with a timer.

These final talks with Jim Gordon is honestly one of my favorite parts of the trilogy. It’s just two people who fights for what’s good in Gotham even if it is corrupted to the core. And through it all, Jim Gordon is forever grateful for what Batman has done, even if he never figured out his identity til the end. “It’s not who you are underneath, it’s what you do that defines you.” “I never said thank you.” “And you’ll never have to.” “Thank you.” “You don’t have to thank me.” “Yes I do” “I never cared who you were.” “And you were right.”

I believe people are missing one of the most important part of this scene and that is batman and Gordon's talking before he departs and that is. It's not have batman having a suit or unlimited resources or an arensal of weapons to battle the antagonist. Much less he's an idea, that anyone could be a hero just as Gordon was just as Blake was. That in his eyes their was no differences in any of them, only that people got caught up of the idea of batman and that's the hero. Never realizing when the time came they rose up themselves to do what was right instead of being cowards. I absolutely love this scene it makes batman that much more noble. People see this wonderful self sacrificing person and believe that's a hero not knowing that batman sees these people and thinks you and I are not that different. Just brilliant I love it and yes I did cry.

"You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain." -- Harvey Dent The Dark Knight trilogies are nothing short of genius. Both Batman and Dent died hero's, but in much different ways. Dent, suffering from a mental break down, became one of the many victims he was trying to protect. It ended with him taking matters into his own hands becoming a sort of vigilante clouded by rage, revenge and chance that resulted in murder, even his own death. Batman, on the other hand, died a much more tragic death, imo. The guilt, depression, and personal loss he suffered in life caused him to do almost the exact opposite. He became a complete recluse; his spirit dead. With his body aged, scarred, broken down and beat -- eventually, he did "rise" once more when his city desperately needed -- if anything, a "sign of hope" against almost impossible odds. Only it resulted in the ultimate sacrifice. In order for Bruce Wayne to live and go on with life, his alter-ego, Batman, had to die. Nolan really doesn't get enough credit for this masterpiece! Bruce Wayne lives; Batman dies.
