That's movie psychoanalysis that's why they get it wrong. Real American psychoanalysts are mostly very competent. Certainly better than Freud who failed his patients by caving to pressure that he not reveal that so many of his female patients had been sexually assaulted by friends and relatives. Think how much we could have advanced if society had not been afraid to face this truth, talk about it and work to prevent it.
