So I assume Theine doesn't work either, when it is chemical immunity. I've recently learned a recipe that might help you. Translated (and in metric system, so translate if american :) ) 120g Oat 60g Nuts (We use mostly walnut) 250g dates 3 tea spoons coconut oil 1 tea spoon backing cacao 2 table spoons peanut butter cream All into the blender so it turns into a paste. The paste then gets formed into little mouth sized balls, which can be eaten as is. Tastes really good, and 2 of these buggers have the same effect on me as a cup of coffee, just less extreme. The ramp up of energy takes a bit longer, and the ramp down is a lot smoother. So you don't have the highs and downs of coffee.
@Astraeus..Ай бұрын
It's not physically possible for caffeine to just "do nothing" to you. What you have (and I do as well) is a naturally high tolerance, which is something around 10% of people have for reasons unknown. Most sources of it, at least in liquid form, are fairly small doses, and caffeine itself metaboloizes pretty quickly. Generally speaking, 4-6 hours is about how long it'll be kicking around in your system before it's not doing anything anymore. The only way you're going to figure out what caffeine actually does is if you did it on purpose with caffeine pills, eat 4-6 of the 200mg tablets and wait awhile.....I mean, maybe don't do that if you have any kind of heart conditions or whatever, but for a relatively healthy person the actual overdose rate for caffeine is upwards of 10,000 mg in a relatively short period of time, so as long as you don't do something moronic and swallow 50 of the stupid things you're gonna be fine.

But the cancer treatments required me to give up caffeine. I slowly weaned myself off of it and I've been caffeine free ever since (except for sometimes when I'm at someone's house and all they've got to drink is Coke). And my life is so much better now. And on those rare occasions when I have been forced to consume caffeine, I can really feel it now, feeling it preventing me from sleeping at night. I went to Ireland with my parents before covid. I had been there 10 years previous for college and coffee shops were few and far between. So I warned them an entire year out to start scaling back the caffeine just in case. My dad took my warning seriously and started drinking more black tea. But my mom ignored my warning, and she was so difficult to handle for the first few days until we found a starbucks. Once we was caffeinated, I couldn’t help but scold her with “I warned you and now you’re paying the consequences”. So I have made it a point to never get dependent on caffeine.

As someone who has only had sips of coffee and found it disgusting, this is basically how I see people who complain about not having their morning coffee yet. I roll my eyes when people say "don't talk to me until I've had my coffee". I find it ridiculous. Then when they find out I'm a morning person and can deal just fine without coffee, they ask how I can wake up. Answer is water. It's whatever you get used to. People sometimes tell me I should try the kind they drink, I'll like it. But my thinking is I've survived for 36 years without, so I can go the rest of my life without. I don't want to become so dependent on coffee and be miserable in the morning if I don't have my coffee. Or complain about how different places have worse coffee. I do love the smell of it though.
@AirsaberАй бұрын
Pretty much this. "People sometimes tell me I should try the kind they drink, I'll like it" and every time it tastes like ash tray... Well except those sweet coffees that are basically a coffee flavour milkshakes. But then, I rather have vanilla milkshake. And I am not saying those people like to taste ashtray, but they just can't taste this part any more, but people not used to it, can only taste this part in the coffee. The reason why people need coffee before they can function is because coffee "borrows" energy from the future, so once you get in coffee loop, you are tired because the yesterday tiredness catches up, so they need to delay it with another cup of coffee. In the loop, at best you can get into the normal state. If you really want a boost of energy, use caffeine sparingly, only when you really need it.

As a tea drinker I could never understand why coffee is so addicting for many people. Tea has caffeine too, but still somehow tea drinkers are not even half as addicted as coffee drinkers. Just why?
@skloakАй бұрын
It’s because the amount of caffeine in coffee is so much higher. The strongest cup of tea might have 70 or 80mg of caffeine at most (but maybe as little as 5mg), while an average cup of coffee will run you 100-200mg of caffeine, with some ranging up around 250mg. The levels in tea aren’t enough to cause an addiction, though they can still cause sleep issues in people with caffeine sensitivity.
@Jadiaz-ev9hmАй бұрын
Every tea drinker I know has multiple pots daily. I know only of 1 coffee drinker who goes through 2 pots a day. Everyone else has half a pot of coffee on a typical day. Tea drinkers are just as bad, if not worse. The US Military in the field might get coffee once a day. The English built tanks with dedicated tea making facilities. So really, tea is a worse addiction than coffee ;)
@AirsaberАй бұрын
@@Jadiaz-ev9hm Can't say I know any tea drinker who would go through multiple pots a day - who even drinks that much? Sounds like peeing all the time. Even the pots part is kinda out there - most people don't care about the loose leaf version, they just make themselves tea in a regular mug while using a cheap tea bag. That said, can't say I know a coffee drinker who would get through multiple pots a day, either (sounds like a recipe for a heart attack). Also, um, tea drinkers don't assume that EVERYBODY drinks tea and NOBODY can work without tea, they are unlikely to get the shakes, the shits, or headaches... And then there's a whole mountain of coffee-centric jokes, memes, and anecdotes, plenty of them suggesting that it's almost dangerous to deny somebody a coffee - and the vast majority of them are created by coffee drinkers. Hmm. 🤔
@cenciende9401Ай бұрын
Sure, that's why literally any time you sit down or arrive somewhere or socialise or do anything your first thing is 'cup of tea anyone?' You're constantly drinking tea. Tea drinking countries like the UK are constantly drinking tea, far more than is normal to drink coffee.
@AirsaberАй бұрын
@@cenciende9401 Who's "you"? I'm not familiar with any hiveminds. Each time I've been to somebody's house (rather than to a bar), I was asked whether I wanted water, juice, carbonated drink, tea, coffee, herbal "tea" even - y'know, "what would you like to drink?" - unless a person knew my preferences. I've always done the same. Dunno where you live (I'm guessing the US, as the USians tend to be weirdly defensive/aggressive about coffee, as can be seen here in the comments :D), but where I live it's normal to ask your guests rather than to pick for them. I did spend some time in the UK, and I've never been forced to drink tea and tea only. (Side note: I've never met a regular person who'd care about that stereotypical "five o' clock tea".) The most popular drink while socializing outside of one's home is beer, and socializing while drinking alcohol has been normalized to such extent that not wanting to do it quite frequently results in a non-drinking person being seen as "like a robot", "uptight", "self-righteous", "not fun, shouldn't be invited", etc - matter of fact, similar stuff is sometimes said about people who drink tea... Even here in the comments this attitude is present. Speaking of alcohol, it's weird to directly compare tea, which quite frequently is drunk pretty weak (doubly so when it's green or white) and, again, is quite frequently made using a cheap tea bag, with coffee, in whose case it's pretty easy to make a cup that makes one's heartbeat shoot through the roof (or, again, get the shits, etc, etc. It's not the same, just like drinking 2 x 500 ml of beer (syrup optional) and drinking the same amount of vodka is not the same. There's literally a comment about varying amounts of caffeine in this subthread. With all that said, I don't see the reason to be so annoyed just because somebody said "uh, it's not **quite** like this, and I'm saying this as a leaf juice drinker to a bean juice drinker". As long as you're in control, it's just [usually] hot water with some extras.
