In that doc you see him lifting with Cbum and they’re practically the same size. He could’ve been competing with Cbum for years. Sadly I don’t think he ever addressed the mental part of it all. He hints at sadness/depression but never got professional help. Things could’ve been different

In his Netflix Doc and also some other Films about him he always kind of looked alone and strangely lost, as if he has no real purpose for himself and also - like a lot of people who are all about their optics - very low on self esteem. The injuries, the death of his dog and the Lockdown all have probably contributed to a worsening psychological condition for him as mentally weaker and unstable persons are often heavily inflicted by such outside circumstances.

Mental health or drugs? These are vastly different things. To me, it seems more likely he hit the stimulant drugs to counter the depression after this dog died. But that doesn't change the fact that he has apparently fled to US to avoid paying child support. He's a deadbeat, let's not equate his narcissism and drug abuse with those struggling with primary mental health issues. He needs help, but he also needs to face the music and atone for the damage he's caused.

I remember watching Generation Iron 2, and it was the first time I saw Von Moger. It really painted a picture of a nice guy, that has serious ADHD, was tough to motivate, struggles socially, only keeps superficial relationships, and his entire life and self worth was wrapped up in his physique. He even stated in the video that he was never good at anything else, and could never really hold down a job. I think he needed help long before he needed help. But he was just very good at conveying being happy to people that didn't know him very well. But not too long ago, in his videos, it was clear his two best friends, he felt the most attachment to, were a dog and a lizard. It's all pretty sad.

What seems to be going on isn't all that complex. Guy has seemingly great things going on. Great things largely rely on his body look as close to perfect as possible. Guy gets injured, then later, reinjured. Personal identity shattered. Relationship with his girl falls apart. Girl has his kid. Guy doesn't know how to proceed in a way that can put his life back together, deal with his ex, and start being a dad in the middle of all his shit falling apart. Guy also turns to mind altering drugs as a way to avoid the reality he is now in, to escape it. The drugs and endorphin fixes take their toll on him and make his reality even worse, and a situation he wishes to avoid more and more. It's an ugly cycle and I pray he manages to escape it, to quit the mind altering drugs and to put his life back together in a way that he also doesn't need to abuse PED's to continue either, and finds a way to be in his kid's life.
