A brand like MVMT/Vincero aren't good value for money, but if someone wants to pay too much for a Chinese watch and are happy with what they got, there's nothing wrong with that... Especially when there are channels like this one, out here, providing the information you need to make a solid purchase. But if a company like this is actively deceptive, or worse, a scam... it's disgusting. Thank you for continuing to expose dodgy companies like this one!

@1betterthanyou1 I personally own 2 Vincero watches, and they’ve never had issues yet (for the 4 months I’ve had them, so keep that in mind). I’m not going 2 say it’s high quality or that it cuts out the middle men, cuz it doesn’t, but I do like the way they look, and it operates good enough for me. The customer service is also good, the delivery dates are reliable, and it seems like the company is open about their product, even saying that the founders themselves moved to China, which is something that most companies don’t have the balls 2 do. It builds trust with the company, and it seems like said trust is being backed up by their more recent investments that u brought up. My only hope is that they rebrand from an “Affordable Luxury Watch” brand to a fashion watch brand, which is much more accurate
@allensu93633 жыл бұрын
Nah if you want a Chinese watch just get one on alibaba. When I was a kid and didn’t have too much money I loved getting cheap Chinese watches. @HadLux19892 жыл бұрын
Exactly. They're appealing to a certain type of very sad person, who thinks that a watch is going to make them popular or cool or whatever. I for one don't buy watches to receive compliments - I'd honestly be happy for people to not speak to me. I buy them because I enjoy them.
@marcelo90z2 жыл бұрын
Weird how people rarely talk about this as one of their shady advertisements points, or so I have seen. If someone comes to me just to compliment my watch, especially a complete stranger, I'd be scared shitless, because for sure it's a robber coming for me. I'd like a watch to look good, but being a robbery magnet would surely detour me away from buying one of those. I think only very insecure people would fall for that one, but considering how Filippo Loreti is still around, it's sad that using a cheap psychological trick like this would still make bucks for someone.

@@mitchaelhollingsworth1698 Squale (like Panerai) is swiss constructed, but the HQ is in Italy (Squale in Milan, Panerai in Florence) :) Locman too is interesting. They are based in Elba island and opened the "Scuola Italiana Orologeria" (Italian school of horology) there, where they produce in-house movements (actually a date/time automatic and a chrono/time/date automatic in their Montecristo line). But they seriously need to giveaway the quartz based watches and reposition themselves when it comes to mechanical ones. About watchmaking, of course now Swiss is more regarded than nearly any other country for movements (even tho they started back then to fake UK/French movements, more or less like China does now with Swiss ones), Italians are more famous for the design and are very strong in more heavy mechanical stuff like aerospace and cars/bikes :) Each his own.

I have been buying from Chinese manufacturers for 5 years. This is how they work. They make a production line and a design. They then try to take orders for future production runs. They take full payment first to pay for manufacturing overheads like materials, workers and even the factory rent. This means the company only has to invest 30% of production cost and they get there profit before the item has been made.

this video really teach us how to recognize a ambush watch brand. it's so much better to expend your money on reliable brands as seiko and casio. thank you to help beginners to escape from products like these.

What a scam! They are really milking the affiliates program and those shameless influencers are part of the deception. Which makes your channel, professionalism and objectivity such a reliable place for watch enthusiasts. Keep up the good work! (PS: Is it possible that they noticed your purchase, and hold on to it to avoid getting a (bad) review? well... glad it didn't deter you from investigating them!)

We ordered the watch under a pseudonym, to a different address, to avoid the possibility of the experience being affected by my 'KZbinr' status - unsurprisingly, the watch never turned up

You have done a such great job analysing and exposing this brand and its dodgy (imo borderline illegal) business practice. Such a bold and brave attitude, just we really need! Great job Ben, please keep up the good work

Great video! I backed the orignal Kickstarter campaign and when the watch arrived, it just looked and felt cheap. Stopped working about 6 months later. Hung onto it and now I doubt I could give it away!

I'm totally new to this channel and just trying to start getting into watches. This is probably the fourth or fifth video of yours I've seen, and immediately I could tell this had every single mark of a viral video. Its high quality, funny, drama. Its a sudo content cop, and I love it. It's a shame the algorithm never brought the the fame you deserved for this, so take my subscription.

Great investigative piece! I saw a review of the brand on another watch channel this morning, but it seemed legit and the link featured did not appear to have affiliate coding in it. But definitely buyer beware, huh?! Wow. Sucks.

This is going to be 🔥 Shady fashion watches with their dubious claims need to be exposed more. Even more widely accepted brands like Fossil have terrible quality control and are massively overpriced when compared the likes of Casio and even Seiko.

Good Job Ben. More videos need to be made about these Fashion Brands and the way they're tricking people into spending money on junk. This was informative with good evidence backing your video. Keep up the good work!

I personally have a Filippo Loreti watch. Paid $150 for their “2020 limited edition” (which is still on sale) in January 2020, received the watch in late July 2020. The watch is somewhat solid in quality but it’s under the build quality of my Orient, Seiko, Citizen and Bulova watches. I can say a Timex watch for $40 at Walmart has better quality than the Filippo Loreti watch I got. I wanted to try them out, all I got was a watch I can wear when I’m doing manual labor work.

This is dishonest marketing indeed. It’s so italian we never heard about that brand in here, such a shame most people see watches as a fashion item instead of a practical use with memories. (of course the appearance has a strong importance but what I mean is NEVER follow trends)

I have to say thank you so much for this video. I am a watch amateur. My dad taught me a little about watches when I bought my first basic watch from Seiko. Making sure to get good Sapphire crystal glass, what to look for in a watch face etc. But I was seriously considering looking at a MVMT or a Filippo watch to get my first luxury watch in the form of an automatic watch. I decided against it and bought a "cheap" automatic watch from Sterling as a beginner automatic watch so I can learn what to look for when I decide on purchasing from a proper luxury brand. So thank you for saving me hundreds of dollars, and getting something akin to the Orient watch you showed. For now, its small steps for me as I learn about nicer and nicer watches. For now, Im happy with my nice Seiko that Ive had for decades, and a cheap chinese Sterling automatic before I pull the trigger on something much, much nicer one day.

I own several models from filippo roleti, and i can definitely say its not a luxury watch. But as a budget watch with a little more elegant style, I think it's pretty reasonable.

Great to see a knowledgeable, deep dive into Filipo Loreti. I've disliked their hyper-targeted advertising for a long time, but with your insight into their marketing model, it serves as a real lesson. Their slick web presence and predatory promotional 'reviews' deserved to be exposed more widely. It would be great if this video became the first thing people found when looking up this horrible brand.
