Some sections of this video have been blurred post-upload to avoid breaking Amazon’s updated terms of service for their affiliate program. Affiliates are no longer permitted to use Amazon web pages in their videos, and we can’t afford to get booted, as it makes up a large portion of our revenue. They threatened to boot us if we didn’t comply. It sucks, right?

"Affiliates are no longer permitted to use Amazon web pages in their videos" TRANSLATION Amazon doesn't want people to know they happily allow dubious companies to promote and sell their products through their website. Amazon is like Disney. They preach about equality and human rights YET do business with China and other countries who are the VERY SAME countries who have spent over 50 years abusing and oppressing their people. The West is a hypocrite. If people KNEW what conditions workers from these countries work in and how their governments treat them? People would be ashamed buying their products.

Years ago when I was still new to the “style rabbit hole” I had bought a watch from The Fifth after seeing a video from RMRS the watch looked...fine but the original strap was itchy and unwearable. It wasn’t until much later I came across your channel exposing MVMT. That level of honesty really hooked me especially after you exposed The Fifth and Vincero (a brand I had really been interested in thanks to those bigger style channels). I definitely felt betrayed by Antonio and those other bigger channels to the point I stopped watching them entirely. I still have The Fifth watch mainly as a reminder that most “guru” types are usually just after their own interests. Without the OG Ben Arthur channel I’d probably have sunk a few hundred into a vincero watch and a pair of fancy dress shoes that don’t fit right.

For what it's worth my wife bought me a Fossil Chronograph (different model from the one in the video) and it's been solid. Definitely still a fashion watch but it hits its markers and has functioning pushers and working crown. Also thought you might find it interesting that Carrnegie watches is going out of business and I got an add for their closeout sale. The watch you reviewed is on sale for $30 and you spoke fairly highly of the watch in the video when it was priced around $150. Thought that was something followers of this channel might be interested in knowing! Glad I found this channel a year or so ago love the content!

The worst watch I ever saw was at Target, as part of their otherwise fine Goodfellow clothing line. It was a quartz monstrosity with zero branding on the dial, a fixed fake rotating bezel, and "pushers" that were molded into the case body of the watch. The funny thing is they were also selling perfectly acceptable Timex watches right next to them.

Sorry you bought a rubish Fossil watch. My fossil is over 10 years old, bought on ebay for a fiver as the crystal was smashed, but on receipt I was blown away. Its a chrono, has a decent quartz movement, solid links as well as solid end links and a milled clasp. On seeing how beatiful it was i cleaned it up and bought a saphire crystal for it. Some manufacturers may originally bring out good watches and then cash in on their label, and some do it the other way round, who knows as I agreed with your review of that particular watch in any event. I love watches, but like most people I cant afford a 5k premium for a trumped up stainless steel brand. However i do appreciate good design and good value spec and the more people are made aware of the latter the better as most viewers are probably in my position or if not they're just kidding themselves . All the best buddy.

There is something off about that Fossil. This may sound weird, but maybe it was a counterfeited... Or maybe Fossils are just so hit or miss... I have a few of them, quite satisfied. Only buy from physical stores. They appear to be of a relatively good quality with little to no defects. Leather bands are good and comfy, none have fake or unused functions. Also, they have great instore customer support. Watches are often discounted, so I get nice pieces $40-$100 range. Cool hybrid offerings.

After seeing Nyjah Huston (one of my favourite Skaters) in the MVMT video I did a quick google and got really disappointed. He seriously had a Limited Edition Signature Watch with them that sold for 180€. Obviously the specs are as garbage as you'd expect. What's super ridiculous, Nyjah is known for being pretty adventures, aside from skating he's driving MotoCross, often goes hiking and whatnot. The first block on the page of the watch actually says it has 10ATM, which would be at least something, but when you scroll down and read the specs it says only 5ATM.

Today greed has taken over the business model and things are designed and built to fail after a certain amount of time and the scam called, supply and demand has become dominant in everything. It has become a sad and cutthroat world we live in. My 40-year-old furnace and central air conditioner, both of which has never broken down and still work like new, is proof of this. Second: Try reviewing WWOOR watches, I just got one today, they are very cheap and have very good quality, much better than the other brands: (I am changing the names) Salami Design, Oreo, TOVIS, SanMertin, Cudisen, etc, these brands are expensive, and I have seen numerous videos were they say they stop working after a short time, with no warranty, also seen unboxings were the watch is very faulty, or dosnt work, I mean, if I am sending you a watch to review, I must make sure its flawless, right? The big issue I have with Vincero above most other brands is that much of their current marketing campaign revolves around selling the customer on the idea that somehow buying their product will make them more attractive to the opposite sex. I find this style of ad campaign rather low class as it plays on people's insecurities and makes me personally feel that the brand views the consumer as foolish and easily manipulated. To me this is an even worse low beyond the already deceptive marketing that they use.

I found this video really interesting! It blows my mind how these companies will try and sell these crap watches and I find it deeply shameful but unsurprising that these 'Influencers' have no principles about promoting naff watch brands or watches to their audience.

Hi Ben, I don't know how I've missed this "10 Worst" video, as I've been watching your channel for a couple of years. The reason for this comment is that you have such a GREAT, biting sense of humor that I found myself watching it twice. You are definitely funny when you want to be. I'm almost hesitant to mention this (especially on a public forum but...I too fell prey to the slick marketing schtick and lead on by an influencer which I've now come to realize is nothing more than a "Snake Oil Salesman" (for reasons in another venue.) Anyway the watch, and I use that term in the loosest sense, should go unnamed. Suffice to say it's the "Chrono" version of a brand that begins with the letter "V." I even tried to dress it up with steel bracelet to replace the cardboard strap masquerading as "Genuine Italian Leather" but it was just trying to put lipstick on a pig. I wound up wearing it only once in the two years that it has been in my watch box and no matter how I've tried, I just can't do it a second time. There, I feel somewhat better fessing up to the fact that I was duped. Keep up the good work which you do showing "The Good The Bad and (unfortunately) The Ugly" watches in this vast universe of personal time pieces. Cheers!

I ended up buying that same Braun. Fits fine on my medium-size wrist. It was on special price on their website ($90 I think?). When it arrived, I found out why. The second hand was hitting the marks unlike the one you showed, but the case back was marred! Someone used unprotected metal pliers to unscrew the back to replace the battery that apparently must have died while sitting in inventory like several reviews on Amazon mentioned. They used one set of holes to open, and a separate set of holes to close. They also slipped, because there's a spot on the back that was clearly rubbed/scuffed down after a scratch. I do wear it because you can't see the blemishes, but if it had been a gift it would have been an embarrassment.

Such a pity that Camden didn’t carry out their ethos of “pocket watch styling in a wrist-hugging package” correctly. If they had only done that properly and elegantly, they might have made some very classy watches.

The only thing I don't like about the Orient SK is the gold jewel style markers on the front. That's the part that kills the look the most. The bezel is cool, the use of color is interesting, it's funky and busy, but the cutouts and gold markers are just a little too much. Also yeah WTF with that water resistance rating?

the orient sk diver looks sick imo to be honest, a bit tacky but I thought the inside crystal bezel was sick, if only it was a real diving watch...

Ben, I'm really enjoying your channel, and it's no nonsense take on watches, be they good or bad. I'll put my hand up here and say I bought a truly vile piece of crap from TK Max purely as a stop gap. When you know you really do know rubbish from 100 yards and of course your videos do a wonderful job of proving the point. So many thanks for better arming me and I won't be making the same mistake(s) again.

I know you didn't mention it here, but because you mentioned another Braun watch I just wanna defend the Braun AW10 (that you also shit on in another vid). I've had no issues with the movement and the design is classic, fits perfectly. My daily wear.

Great video, very informative too. It's a good idea to look around the internet before stumping up the cash. If I'm buying anything other than a Casio I usually end up on AliExpress buying Steeldive, STARKING, Skmei etc amazing value for the money and well made too👍

The only thing I would say in defence of Camden Watch Co is that they do have a London location so probably have way more overheads. However, having seen them in person, they aren't great

Ben, do you find with all of your experience with quartz watches, expensive or cheap, that it's normal for them to not have the second hand hit the chapter ring right on? I've read that it's honestly very normal but you hold each watch to that "on-the-mark" standard. I personally have no qualms about this, I just find this a curiosity. Keep doing what you're doing - you're doing great work to help new and experienced watch lovers seek good value.

Watches aren't needs for very many people. They have very little utility in today's world. The way I see it, a watch is a fashion accessory or an investment piece. It can be both. If you don't have the money, or don't want to spend the money to buy an investment-level watch, then holding value isn't part of the equation. At that point just buy whatever watch you like best as a fashion accessory, and can easily afford. I don't see a middle ground when it comes to watches in today's world. It's either an investment or a fashion piece.

i found a Daniel Wellington at a Bloomingdale's going out of business for about 80 bucks, its a decent design and i like how it doesn't tick, it moves slowly. but 200 bucks for that piece of garbage? i cant even go to the shops without the leather getting wrinkled or the glass being scratched on stupid things like plastic. im starting to want to either sell it for 20 bucks or just toss it out.
