I work at Amazon as a picker, but now as a packer. One thing I watch for in shoe boxes is that they are not used shoes in them, not from customer returns but from pickers or others up the line that may have switched them out and trying to literally walk out with new shoes! It is rare this happens, but I still check each shoe box that comes through before packing it for the customer. If I do find one, I will report it immediately to the manager, give the tote number (the number of the box that the items were picked into and packed out of) so we can trace the item back to at least the picker in question.

@redwolfexr2 жыл бұрын
I did okay, it was fairly profitable - but the "dead pile" of stuff that is "worth decent money" but hard to ship/sell/ect gets pretty big. Some stuff takes a year to sell or more. Some people are such scammers, and take advantage of the return policies of companies. Not that I’m defending Amazon. The company makes billions, but returning worn shoes for brand new shoes is disgusting. Honest people pay for this ultimately.
@peezdoc2 жыл бұрын
Also, people forget that not everything sold on Amazon is owned by Amazon. So when people return used stuff or like in my experience they sent back rocks, yes rocks for a serpentine belt for their car (I sell car parts) it really hurts a small business. I sell on Amazon and have received all types of different stuff in the returns. And Amazon doesn't fight it they just give the money back to the customer. It could ruin a small business
@Dikkensyder2 жыл бұрын
Just shows the dishonest nature of some people. Amazon needs to make a black list and send back their bogus return items in place of their next purchase. 😂😂
@AndyPerry19722 жыл бұрын
I don't get this. I thought Amazon checked stuff and only issued the refund etc once it was all confirmed legit. I mean I know they make billions but how much must they be losing if they are not even bothered to check returns? Even if it was just to send the message back to stop these undesirables from taking the p155! As much as I have had my arguments and disagreements with Amazon, they certainly have one of the best returns policies.
@peezdoc2 жыл бұрын
@@AndyPerry1972 in the case that I was saying, Amazon doesn't check returns. Most stuff sold on Amazon is from small businesses. Amazon doesn't literally have everything, it's just sold on their site and when someone returns something it goes back to the small business and if said business tells Amazon the product is used or damaged they don't care and issue the refund which comes out of the small business Amazon account. Even if I fight it they do a "review" which always comes back as "the customer is always right". So not only do we lose out on the product sale but then we lose money on shipping(because to compete in Amazon you need free shipping) and also paying for the shipping for the return which can be quite costly depending what part of the country you're in. I know some people will say "stop selling your product on Amazon if you can't afford to lose out on returns and shipping multiple times a day" then I'd be out of business because Amazon is killing a huge percentage of small business. Can't live with them, can't live without them. It sucks!!!

So just a warning about amazon: was selling some mugs from a liquidation store, same exact product as something listed. The original seller then proceeded to try and buy a mug from us, and then accused us of selling fraudulent items on amazon, and now we can’t sell those mugs on amazon even though they were literally still in the box with a barcode linking back to the original listing (so not fake). Just be careful of sellers coming after you on some things.
