Thank you for sharing this. From watching KZbin videos it seems like everything in the Philippines is puppy dogs and rainbows but there is a dark side everywhere. Everyone should be concerned about the upbringing of children as they are the future. Having a good education system and health care for them is something everyone should support. While this dark side goes on everywhere its been studied and the increase of alcoholism, poverty and fewer rights for women and children usually cause it to increase.

I'm so glad you brought this up Leah. The biggest Paedephile case in history happened in 2015 in the Philippines. Peter Scully (an Australian) is his name. 60 minutes Australia covered the story. He kidnapped, raped, tortured and murdered very young girls, he also ran a cyber ring and videotaped his victims to be shown all over the world to other Paedephiles and sex addicts. He did it in secret but his victims came from villages and compounds around where he lived. It is horrendous and very hard to watch, but it's important that everyone does and expose these disgusting vile men. The Philippine authorities say that their biggest and most important crimes are cyber sex. Mothers sell their daughters! Especially in the larger cities.

I have a friend that suffered terrible abuse as a child and now as a grown adult she has low self esteem and rarely finds a decent partner. Its as if the narcissistic men sense she is easy prey and I have seen her emotionally and physically abused time after time. I don't really know what to do to help her. She needs to go through a period of healing. Its the greatest problem I have faced in my life because I know her life at risk.

Usually 3rd world countries do have more crime because of no jobs and sex trafficking,money laundering, stealing and so on. Yes, the Philippines IS a Christian country, but that doesn't stop Filipinos from living a life that is not in line with the teachings of Jesus. I live in Antwerp, Belgium and you would be surprised how many adultresses you will find within the Filipino Catholic Community of Antwerp. My ex-wife was one of them and I know that many of her friends are doing the same. It was actually in church that she met the wrong people who encouraged her to start screwing around. Marrying a religious woman is not a guarantee for honesty and loyalty. I learned that the hard way.

The 2nd time, she floored him and put the boots on him. Cops took her away and medics took him away. hahahaaha In my state, a domestic violence call forces cops to remove one from the home. Hi Leah. This is a very sad topic but one that is happening everywhere. I will never understand why this happens to children and not just children in the Philippines but world wide. There are some very sick people that abuse and use children. I notice more kids here out by themselves just wandering around and wonder where are the parents. People that neglect or abuse children should be locked up and never be allowed to be around children ever again. It is not just physical abuse it is also mental abuse. I got plenty of mental abuse from my adopted mother so I know what it is like to grow up in that kind of situation. I turned out pretty good all things considering. I know lots that did not turn out so good after physical or mental abuse. Sad to say I don't know how all this will stop but hoping it does. Children don't deserve this kind of treatment. That’s true, a Filipina should consider their children in every step they take. Men aren’t usually as good as women are in caring for their children. There are some exceptions, but few. My father was an alcoholic. He did quit drinking and has stayed sober for decades and was very involved with AA and his church. But, he still has some issues. He is what they refer to as a dry alcoholic now.
