Melissa told in an Interview her role models are Floor Jansen and Alissa White-Gluz. Works for me. In my opinion she is a rising star in the metal Universe. She is still working an her cleans, much can be expected. Ad infintum is a constant on my playlist. Dark side of the moon was created out of a bet between Hans Platz (guitarist, Feuerschwanz) and Melissa. When rhey recorded Ding together, Ad Infintum was releasing Marching on Versailles. The bet was whos video got 1 million hits on KZbin first. Ding won so Melissa had to do a cover with Hans. They asked Jenny (Feuerschwanz, her Company also did the video) to join. As they needed a drummer Morten (Amaranthe) who is Melissas Partner was the easy choice for this one of cover. When Napalm Records heard the song they proposed to produce a full album, which they are working on at the moment. That is the story of this supergroup.

Your reaction to her growl was the same as mine but from the opposite direction. I was introduced to her when she was featured on Sparta by Warkings and then doing a cover of Amon Amarth's Twilight of the Thunder God when she was singing for Rage of Light. The first time I heard her cleans, which was Mechanicals by Rage of Light, I said "She can sing too!?"

You've seen the redhead before. Her name is Jenny Diehl, aka Mieze Myu, and she's a member of Feuerschwanz (as is Hans the guitarist). In the video for the Feuerschwanz cover of "Warriors of the World United", Jenny was one of the two women fighting each other with axes. So she's a dancer, a musician (harp) and also a filmmaker, because she is one of the three people who form the small film company that shot this music video (the "Dream Film Factory").

The Guitar player Hans and the redhead women Jenny are from Feuerschwanz. Melissa did a lot of guest vocals for other bands and during a video shoot for Feuerschwanz Hans and Melissa wagered if Ad Infinitum or Feuerschwanz get more views for their new videos. The Outcome of that bet is The dark side of the moon. The Dark Side Of The Moon actually kinda formed by accident. It started as a bet between Hans (guitar) and Melissa. Hand won and asked her to record a song with him (this song). Then it ended up at Nuclear Blast and they got signed based on this song only. Mindblowing ain't it? They are doing covers from pop culture (TV/movies/games) but will also do original stuff,, and their next song is coming out on the first of March. Loved your reaction!

First of all,I would like to add to what others have mentioned that Jenny was also involved in making of this music video as she is a partner in the film production company that made this music video - Dream Film Factory. There is also a video about making of this music on this band´s KZbin channel. Yes, Melissa is one of the female singers that can switch between clean and harsh vocals. I would recommend you to check out the "eluveitieofficial" channel as there are two quite informative interviews with Melissa. The interviewer is Fabienne Erni, who is the vocalist in bands Eluveitie and Illumishade. There are interviews with other people,as well, including: Tommy Karevik of Kamelot, Mark Jansen of Epica and MaYaN, Lena Scissorhands of Infected Rain, Diva Satanica of Nervosa or Marcela Bovio of MaYaN and Dark Horse White Horse. That instrument is called a Harp in English. Absolutely adore Melissa Bonny, a true up and coming talent. Check out her stuff with Ad Infinitum and previously with Rage of Light. Nice reaction. As others have said Dark Side of the Moon is a side project for Melissa. The guitarist, Hans, and the harpist, Jenny, are in Feuerschwanz and you saw them in the Warriors of the World Unite video. The drummer is her boyfriend and is in the band Amaranthe, one of whose singers you saw in the Ad Infinitum song you did. For more growling check her out in Warkings, Odin's Sons and Sparta.

it's so confusing because she lost a bet so started a second project with the guitarist Hans Platz, who gave a comment here btw. The redhead is also part of Feuerschwanz, plays the harp here, but usually is producer to music videos (Dream film factory). So in essence a wild mix of people coming together from different bands. Napalm Records also likes to have at least one off collabs with vocalists joining together on various occasions. Melissa Bonny is in several ones with Feuerschwanz for example and the second vocalist of Feuerschwanz also is in a second band and joins other projects often. Vice versa the lead singer of Saltatio Mortis. The German medieval metal/rock bands do that particularly often.

Yes one can get sometimes a bit confused by our busy bee Melissa ... ;-) Found her some years ago when she did a cover of Kamelots "Liar Liar" on her YT channel... duetting with herself, of course, singing both parts (Tommy's AND Alissa's... BTW, rumors say she will soon join Kamelot as Tour singer!). That time she was still in Evenmore (her first band?) and RageOfLight (checkout their AmontAmarth cover with her), where she then quitted when her own band AdInfinitum (1st CD was a kickstarter/fan-financed solo project) worked out so well. In parallel she always did side projects with other german (Feuerschwanz' "Ding"-Cover is a must-see!) or austrian (Warkings' "Sparta" & "Odins Son"... both killer songs) bands... and now finally DarkSideOfTheMoon together with Feuerschwanz & Amaranthe members (2 years ago she already did a "TossACoinForYourWicher"-cover on her channel,... would also fit to that project :)).

I would definitely recommend you check out the song I Am The Storm by AD Infinitum. It is not only a great song that shows off Melissa's vocal talents but it was my first introduction to her and the band. It's a great starting point

A few things that I hope end your confusion, The Dark side of the Moon is Melissa´s second band (with members of Feuerschwanz and Amaranthe) and it started as a bet and for now the plan is to make covers with a personal touch You mistake a Danish (Morten) for a Swedish (Nils) though both are in the same band, Amaranthe, if you yant to check them they have a cover of Sabaton (cause you love Sabaton) and even share the stage with Sabaton playing 82nd all the way (comparing the 3 videos is interesting) And yes Melissa can grows, actually if you see her in some of her collaborations, like the 2 songs she has with Warkings (Sparta and Odin´s sons) you will think she only knows growls Melissa has been in 4 bands Evenmore (folk metal), Rage of Light and now she stays in 2 Ad Infinitum and The Dark side of the Moon (I think I haven´t forget any)
