From some of these comments, you'd think that any soldier or ex soldier that suffers PTSD, only suffers it because they went to war and killed civilians.. Its a ridiculous idea.. I fought in Afghanistan, a war amongst the people.. And I never saw a single soldier from the UK, US, Aus, NZ or Canada kill a civilian.. I saw one dead civilian who was killed by the Taliban and one child shot, she ran between us during a shoot-out and was hit by Taliban rounds, we stopped shooting, and they didn’t and one of our lads won a medal by risking his life to rescue her.. She's alive today because of us.. Its a completely false idea that we kill civilians.. Im not saying its never happened but when it has happened, its never been on purpose.. I had two occasions that we were shot at that we never returned fire at all because there was homes behind their firing point.. It is so dumb, wrong and offensive as a professional soldier to read.

Biggest losd of nonsense I've read . How many civilians did yous murder here in the north of Ireland ?? As for PTSD .. loads of soilders go to war then cry about getting PTSD for whatever reason, I can never understand it, why join the army?? Surely joining the army means possibility of war?? Don't like war don't join the army...simple
@BigDW97627 ай бұрын
@jackietreehorn5561 Exactly!!!... Stealth bombers! Pilots 1000s of feet above the ground, bombs, that whether guided or not can't tell the difference between a building with 5 soldiers in or a building with 1 soldier and his family of 4.. None of those are soldiers! Not even the Pilots are soldiers. They may be service members.. But that's a long way from the ground infantry soldiers who fight and patrol among the no man's lands and homes of the population.

Was there a war in Afghanistan or was it all about the oil???
@BigDW97627 ай бұрын
@seanenebrowne Hahahahahahaha... Oh dear.. Someone hasn't done any reading before commenting.. Oil? Oil in Afghanistan?.. Sorry dude, but there was no oil in Afghanistan, there was nothing of value in Afghanistan.. In fact, all Afghanistan has ever had is war in one form or another.. If there was Oil do you think America would have pulled out the way they did? The Taliban, AQ, Drug Lords and ISIS K all fought American troops and coalition troops in Afghanistan and never managed to beat them on the field of Battle.. But America and ISAF packed up and left anyway.. And that was because they weren't getting anything from the country anymore no Oil, no satisfying 9/11 revenge as that had worn off already as well, nothing.. If oil was in Afghanistan, we'd still be there today.

@PedroBelfastBhoy67 My Grandparents were from Northern Ireland and I love that part of myself, and I served with lots of lads from there.. Great lads, but sadly they seem to be a minority.. Firstly the IRA killed more civilians than any battalion of soldiers.. Including my grandmother's cousin who was pregnant at the time, the difference tho, between when the British army killed civilians in Northern Ireland and when the IRA killed civilians, was the 9 times out of ten, the British army killed them by accident because the IRA wanted to fight for their cause among the general population where civilians lived, and 9 times out of 10 the IRA killed civilians on purpose and considering the IRA weren't real soldiers, even killing one of them cowards was technically killing a civilian as well. When it comes to PTSD, I find your comment on it, sad, lacking intelligence and full of hate.. You're obviously hating a modern-day generation of soldiers over the older generation of soldiers service during the Troubles, that the IRA started and kept going despite the loss of good people and its just sad.. Firstly it isn't war that causes PTSD it can be 5 minutes of the worst day of your life that scars you forever, we know what we sign up for, but when your 19 year old friend who was a happy, smiley, good hearted, honest kid is lying in front of you, both his legs gone, his genitals mangled by the blast, his jaw like a smashed bag of crabs, he's bit his tongue off and your holding his hand while he is trying to tell you messages for his mother before dying, it stings a bit and stays with a person, that happened 12 years ago now and it still sits with me, to expect it not to is just stupid.. You're obviously free to have an opinion but maybe you should keep it to yourself since you clearly don't know what you are talking about.

Interesting the interviewer should mention the Irish rugby player who approached the All blacks while they performed their haka, unfortunately he didn't realise that to challenge the war party who are doing their haka would cause the challengers doing their haka obliged to eliminate the challenger first, such is the nature of our Maori warrior culture, I applaud the guys bravery and disregard of the danger of challenging our country's finest warriors, that takes some balls and we the Maori admire bravery. Kia ora brother for sharing your story

If we only live on this planet and all we do is war we are no better than delinquent Martians, life on mrs is no better than war and killing if life was there. We are more capable than Martians and should not reduce ourselves to the cretinous standards of Martian life. Peace and collaboration has more value and sharing high standards, people are better than insects more powerful and capable. Will be nice to see people evolve beyond mars standards✌️❤️🇬🇧

A non story, sorry brother! Non of the decent stuff happened till after 2003 as you know... The place for zero offensive operational experience and canary PSD tales is gracefully in the shadows or retired. Damian’s advice was wrong, rinsing a false mystique isn’t unique. You of course are aware of this 🙏🏼💀
