Namie retired. She didn't "disappear". She just retired, and quite publically and officially. And why not? She had earned enough for it and can enjoy her still young years.

She's literally retired, there's nothing else to it. You have to remember namie went though everything, and I mean EVERYTHING in the public eye. She went though her mother's death, her divorce, her child birth literally EVERYTHING and the media basically chewed her up during that time, her album sales where slipping and she was being called old news by the time style had come out, so I simply think namie has had enough of fame and just sitting in retirement. She made enough money to live the rest of her life completely in hiding, she never has to sing another note again, and you know what fair enough namie did alot for Jpop during her peak, her music disappearing of streaming is honestly not a suprise at all tbh especially considering how avexs is, biggest Jpop company and even they couldn't secure her rights to her original recordings of her albums hence why she made that karoke album called finally. So she disappeared for a reason and I hope if she does return she does it at her own pace or if she never comes back then that's fine as well.

@kerronwalker1589Ай бұрын
@@M0ONCommander girl that whole album was her doing karaoke to her own music you know she was in the recording booth chewing bitches up 🤣 cause AVEX couldn't secure shit for her. Finally was such a success it made enough for her to retire happily into oblivion and never have to think about singing or being famous ever again and if she ever runs out of money all she has to do is release another greatest hits album and she's fine for another 10 years 🤣

Very interesting information; I don't think it is fair for her entire discography and practically artistic legacy to be erased and pretend her contributions to the Jpop industry never existed. It's a shame this happened, and those who never listen to her music probably never will now.

This is the only regrettable thing in my mind. She 100% should be able to retire in peace and not associate herself with her career if that’s what she wants. But I also do hope the official versions become available again some day.

You got a couple things wrong: 1) Her name is pronounced "Nami-eh" (I'm sure I'm not the first one to point that out on here) 2)She wanted to become a Singer after she saw Janet Jackson's "Rhythm Nation" and begged Okinawa Actors School to make an exception to let her go to school there. 3) Super Monkey's weren't that popular until they re-branded as Namie Amuro and the Super Monkey's due to the fact she was doing more publicity work then the other members. 4) And the main thing is she retired it wasn't a sudden disappearance.

Japanese artists always retires. there's so many jpop singer that's young in their peak even retires or they retire because they wanted to get married. Amuro Namie been saying she's going to retire at 40 since she was in her 20s. She basically just did what she said she's going to. I mean why work till you're old and frail. 40 is a good age to retire, she has the money and now she has time to herself to do whatever she want like a free person with all her wealth. I don't know why people think it's a problem or come up with heaps of conspiracy theory about her.

her retirement was no surprised to me...she looked over it and tired in the years leading up to her retring....i remember seeing comments of persons calling her movements robotic or out of it when she was at interviews or variety shows and fans defended her behavior as being mysterious or shy and then she eventually quit interviews and variety shows overall to focus solely on her concerts till she retired......i feel like if she had the chance..she would have retired soon if she wasnt on a 25 year contract ...whatever the reason...i hope she is happy and safe

I don't know why Western/non-Japanese fans are over-reacting to Amuro Namie retiring. It's actually super common in the Jpop scene for artists, especially female artists, to retire or go on long hiatus after so many years of activity. Nakamori Akina went 9 years from 2014 to 2023 without a public appearance even though she released albums during that time frame. I'm also pretty sure I remember seeing something when Amuro originally announced her hiatus that her music was going to be removed eventually off of streaming sites.

a such an Icon in JPOP did not crossover to KPOP. She could have made it big there and made a name like Sakura of Le Serrafim or MISAMO of Twice, but she choose not to. She is already too big and respected enough to be heard in KPOP that she has become an Inspiration for any KPOP from 1st generation to maybe some 5th gen KPOP idols or to some rising popular JPOP idols like XG or &team of HyBe. hopefully, She’ll resurface and make good music and collaborate with some top idols of today like Jennie of Blackpink that would totally break the internet but I think She simply had enough.

She didn't need them or K-pop tbh, namie was Jpop, Japan and jpop has the 2nd biggest music market in the world only behind America, so she never had to venture outside of Japan really, she did cause she wanted to release songs in English, but realistically namie never had to go abroad to sustain a music career.
