With the knowledge of Trandoshan culture, it gives Garnac’s rage at Ahsoka in Season 3 of the Clone Wars some more tragic context. His son Dar died to her on his first hunt before he got a single kill. Not only is he sad over losing his child, but to Garnac, it’s also the ultimate humilation: killed by a jedi padawan with no lightsaber who barely even used her force abilities. The Scorekeeper would see his son as worthless in death, no value to his name. Is it any wonder Garnac snapped?

The reason to use stun instead of kill, also is important to the idea that just because they're clones with the empire, does not mean they are evil. I think this is what people mean with the effect of the chip wearing off, they slowly are able to think clearly once more
@arnowisp6244 Жыл бұрын
I believe the Inhibitor Chips only function was to ensure the clones followed Order 66. Once that was done, they wore off as it was the only thing they were made for. Likely the reason clones were being replaced so soon by Palpatine after order 66 wasn't just because of the Kaminoan betrayal. It was the fact the Inhibitor chips were wearing off. Giving the clones full autonomy back. Meaning they could think back to what they did. And having those clones do a Coup was not what he wanted.

You know, I’m wondering if during the Clone Wars Count Dooku got the Separatist Council together to plan for some shady stuff for after the war, like the megacorporations the council members are from being allowed to annex a lot of territory the Separatist military conquered, or even performing a coup against the Separatist Senate. Then, Dooku somehow lets this meeting or the contents of it get to his master or somebody in the Galactic Republic who then posts it on the Holonet. Something like that would anger a lot of members of the Separatists, realizing their allies were never truly allies. Maybe most Separatist worlds would either return to becoming neutral planets while others rejoin the Galactic Republic to take revenge. And Palpatine then does something similar to Abraham Lincoln during the American Civil War. Lincoln after the Battle of Gettysburg than made the war about ending slavery, which kept a lot of European nations from getting involved due to how unpopular the practice was. Imagine if Palpatine made a speech saying that the Republic would no longer let the Trade Federation and Techno Union hide behind their neutrality, that the Clone Wars were now a war against corporations and their corruption that’s plagued the galaxy for decades or even centuries. You can bet a lot of their victims would get behind the Republic for that. Such an action would lead to any reasonable planets in the CIS unfortunately being labeled as corporate goons despite whatever issues they have with both the Republic and the Separatist Council. And Dooku gets labeled as a tyrant. Something like that would definetly make any form of resistance against the Galactic Empire very popular, as well as the nationalization of most Separatist corporations.

...I doubt he did, seeing how lore goes. I think you might be smarter than Palpatine tbh...

@@lolmeme69_ Nah, that’s just what I would imagine would happen with the makeup of the CIS. Guys like Geetsly so point out there’s a heroic side to the CIS we’re starting to see, but the issue is that the Sith designed the CIS to just be a threat to the Republic. With the megacorporations making the Separatist military and their representatives on the Separatist Council being in charge of the war effort, I just always imagine a post-war CIS falling apart with the Council using the military against the Senate and all planets if anybody tries to stop their corporate corruption and fiefdoms. Generation Tech did a video about what he imagined such a scenario would be like and he imagined it being some private enterprise or corporate version of the Galactic Empire. However Dooku is the big question mark. So far his bigotry only is in Legends, but he at least seems to agree with Palpatine that an empire is the way to govern the galaxy. Dooku at times can be as vicious as a Sith, but as civil as a Jedi, hence why he’s a great politician. But I have no idea how much his values got eroded by Palpatine over the years. Sure he’s killed Jedi, led massacres, backed war criminals, and aligned with terrorists and slave empires, but Anakin did terrible things as Vader and still turned against Palpatine for the greater good. So I don’t know if Dooku would side with the Separatist Council or the Separatist Senate. All I know is, a CIS victory wouldn’t end well for the galaxy, or at least the part of the galaxy in the Separatist Alliance.

But it's another thing for the Tradoshins in this episode, and most if not all of the Imperial Officers in general, since they are evil dicks who choose to do these evil acts for their own sick reasons, unlike Clones and workers I previously mentioned, they don't deserve mercy, they deserve a blaster bolt to the chest. I'm interested to see what happens with sid. Sid is clearly not the most trustworthy person, not even just because she's trandoshan. So after seeing the bad batch be quite brutal with other trandoshans, it's possible we see sid try and make possible amends with the wookies and help the batch against the empire. Who knows. But seeing all this certainly shows there is big stuff coming.

I love your content and know that reviewers were given access to episodes 1-12 early. This feels like a situation you guy already know how things fit together, the ride is worth it, and there are too many slow episodes to get to the meat. Just let us know the season is worth it and you are pointing out the themes from the episodes that will play into the larger tapestry that is being woven this season. I can't wait to see what is about to unfold.

Kinda feel bad for the Trandoshians at this point. Sure they are slavers but wow if they don’t get the short end of the stick when it comes to these shows. First the clone wars featuring the trandoshians being overwhelmed by padawans with no lightsabers and wookies and now the same concept but with less wookies and padawans. Hopefully one day we’ll get something that involves a Trandoshian like Bossk where they have some spotlight outside of being a normal bad guy who loses.

I wonder if they'll stumble into Tarful and Kal Kestis, that would be fun to watch.
@jacoblansman8147 Жыл бұрын
Fallen Order takes place sometime between the Obi-Wan series and Star Wars Rebels, while The Bad Batch is set in the year or so immediately after Order 66. I doubt we'll see Cal Kestis in any season of The Bad Batch (though they did come very close when Rex took the Bad Batch to Bracca - that would have been only a couple of months after Jaro Tapal sacrificed himself to let Cal escape their Venator to the surface of Bracca). Tarfful is more likely but the only places we've seen the Bad Batch visit more than once are Tipoca City on Kamino and Cid's Parlor on Ord Mantell (technically Ryloth as well assisting Hera Syndulla but they left the system and came back in the course of a single episode so I'm not counting it).

I think its interesting that if humans fought an alien we would probably burn or bury the alien casualties out of respect or practicality. But if wookies fought trandoshias, they probably saw it as normal to eat each other lol. Random

The bad batch also shot and killed several clones this episode as well. I wouldn't call it the beginning of a slow Arc, it's more like a switch was flipped and how they choose violence. For very good reasons but still, it was a very Sudden Change.

With the kinrath and the ratatak scientist in the clone wars. I wonder if kotor will just be Easter eggs or if they are going to do a episode around reven or the exlie. E.g empire is after the ruins of the star forge or HK 47,s programing 🤔

To be fair, it makes sense even from a warfare psychology and tactical standpoint. In the first episode, they were on a covert operation with the goal of securing high value cargo and getting out ASAP. There was no need to kill their clone brothers, who were there for similar goals (raiding Dooku's estate). Strictly speaking, there was no good or bad side at that time, as no one was really doing anything reprehensible. On Kashyyk, on the other hand, the empire and the trandoshans were there with the intention of conquering the planet and, more importantly, enslave the wookies. The bad batch's mission was to defend the wookies and stop the empire and the wookies. What message does the bad batch send to the enemy if they see their initial attack being repelled, but without losing anyone in the process? That their opponent is soft? That they don't pose an actual threat? That they can just try again immediately afterwards? If you want your enemy to stop attacking, you want them to fear you, you want them to consider twice before attacking, you want them to know there'll be consequences and risks for doing so

I'd bet one thing would make the Trandoshans think twice about taking Wookiee pelts: Wookies selling Trandoshan-hide boots, belts, wallets, etc. to anyone willing to buy 'em. 😀

Is quite telling when Bossk, a quite infamous bounty hunter by his own right, looks like the CHILL one of his race... On the other side, its their religion... Mandalorians did amost the same to the cathar and some other species and no one id gripping at them.... And lets not forget the extintion of the Sith race...

So far my favorite episode. Was very surprised to see Gungi still alive and well. Thought he was dead. A surprise to be sure but a welcomed one in my book. Also nice to see him not only kick some ass but to see him return to his people was touching. I dislike how much the Wookies almost always suffer. Possibly more than any other species in Star Wars that I could think of. They cannot seem to catch a break. I have not seen one good Trandoshan besides a certain character we know. Even then, she doesn't seem to be fully trusting given her species and all.

My list of species that deserved to be put to extinction in Star Wars: 1 Trandoshans 2 Zyggarians 3 Hutts 4 Pykes 5 Kaminoans Feel free to add more if I missed some other nasty and irreedmable species.

I like how Echo was the one who brought up the fact that "The Wookiees were our allies for years", just kind of showing that he's the Bad Batch's call back to the Republic and the Jedi - he used to be a good friend of Anakin and Obi-Wan, after all. I still feel like he's more underused than Hayden was in Kenobi, though.

4:33 Dude It isn't Their business, not anymore, the clones are not the not the ones thar fight against the imperials, shows like Andor or rebels for that and when they go on simple rescue missions like in Common Ground, using stun Is an option because they only want the target , the reason they decide to use lethal rounds here is because the trandoshans wouldn't go away through stun, with Grogu a jedi and the tribe there , killing them was the only option so not to let the info of a surviving jedi out to Darth Vader or The Emperor like how Rampart killed Wilco to avoid the info of Their survival reach Tarkin

This season is setting us up for the batch breaking up... Echo wants to join the fight against the Empire... Hunter wants the opposite... The last few filler episodes were all about Omega becoming deeply enraptured by the life of an adventurer... Sereno showed her treasure... Wanda Sykes showed her the attractive life of an adventuring pirate... The racing episode showed her the feeling of winning against the odds. They're turning omega into a little Han Solo... She needs to meet Hondo... If he is even still alive. Also, Tech is probably going to end up being a famous pod Racer. They are probably gonna kill wrecker... That will lead to cross hair's redemption and Omega learning her final lesson, loss. I hope the fact that she is force sensitive gets a spotlight this season... It's obvious the batch hasn't been around many jedi... Which explains why no one has noticed... Hunter ( a high-ranking specialist clone trooper) used the term "laser sword. "... While a basic imp clone, later in the episode, used the term "lightsaber"...the batch didn't need to serve under the jedi generals, so weren't briefed on them beyond recognizing the weapon and some of the powers. I think this may lead to a revelation for the finale.

While I agree with all of this and they were likely mad about what the empire was doing I think they realized something else, that this was a time where it was absolutely unavoidable to spare the lives of the imperial clones and trandoshans as they knew what the empire did to Jedi first hand leaving a single soul alive from that raiding party would of doomed the village to slavery anyways if not death by the hands inquisitiors
@violetlight1548 Жыл бұрын
Remember that the Bad Batch's ally Sid is herself a Trandoshan. I have the feeling she's an "atheist" though -- not caring about the Scorekeeper or getting points. I had the idea for a pair of characters, young Trandoshan and Wookiee orphans, who grew up away from their home system, came to rely on each other and consider each other best friends, even sisters. I think that would be a welcome change from the animosity between the two species.
