In Doffy and Kaido defense, the Beast pirates ate the fruits by choice, they knew the risks and were willing to take it for the oportunity to rise in ranks, they choose and some lose the bet What Orochi did was horrible, he gave the fruits to starving people that were unaware of the risks

That was one of the other reasons he SPOILERS... Decapitated Orochi, sure he wanted Orochi's men to bow to him... but he also despised Orochi just like everyone else as he seems to have "some" principles as he took offense of that old crone using Oden's son as disguise as a distraction during their fight... and even apologized for that and had her killed for doing so which some how led to her devil fruit going it's way to being found by Bon-Chan... which is interesting how it left Wano considering they said it spawns on the nearest fruit of the users range.

For reference, when this reunion happened in the manga, it's been roughly 6 years (irl time) after they finally reunited again. The last panel also had only 2 of them pictured in it. It was chapter 722. To count the chapter gap, it's been 212 chapters. While in the anime it has also been 6 years since. In terms of episode, their last scene interacting was episode 653 which equates to 288 episodes since they have seen each other. Long have I waited for this to be animated. My goodness. ♥

Both got their dad instincts going for different reasons from the Smile reveal; Sanji horrified that Orochi would starve people to the point where they were so desperate to eat the Smile - relating to the time when he was forced into starvation - while Zoro is infuriated (I think the manga sold it a little better) that Orochi made it that people are no longer capable to express grief - something he struggled with when Kuina died.

About 2-3 weeks. It mentioned in Zou or beginning of WCI that it takes about a week or more to travel from WC to Wano. And they spent a couple days in WCI, plus it took time to travel to WCI from Zou as well. They left Dressrosa the day after Sanji and half crew left, Maybe a day to get to Zou from dressrosa for Luffy and other half of crew.

In Dressrosa it was already foreshadowed . The guards were punishing the tontattaa cause only 1 out of 10 fruits give abilities and the others and defects.

Fun fact: Back in Dressrosa, one of the guards in the SMILE factory was abusing the Tontatta, whipping them because the fruits they grew only had a 1 in 10 success rate. So this twist of the faulty fruits was actually planned before Zou, even though Zou is when we see the Pleasures for the first time. What makes it even more fucked up is that the guards were blaming the Tontattas as though the 90% failure rate was their fault when it was actually Ceasar and his shitty fruits.
