At the price, just buy a Harrier. One of the main complaints about the Swift is that it's too big, and the Mk4 seems to be just as big if not bigger. As someone who's fielded a 24" barrel Caliburn and the longest barrel Swift, sure a long blaster is usable, but a shorter one is way more maneuverable. Plus not smacking people and objects with your barrel is good too.

You can just not use the long barrel if you want the blaster to be more maneuverable, it only drop the fps a bit. The thing is the Harrier is pretty long too (about the same as MK4) if you want the highest performance, because you need the longer barrel. If you use short barrel for the Harrier, it will only shoot around 200ish, which the MK4 can also achieve with short barrel and stronger spring

The mags themselves have been redesigned so they function like the blaster has a skinny pusher. It's super neat an really innovative.

@@atmaanu4825 it came down to performance. They tested the skinny pusher and it ended up performing worse than the normal pusher, so they redesigned the mag instead. The dartzone people posted a video explaining their design choices and why they did things the way they did, you should give it a watch, it was interesting.

A skinny pusher would have acted as a restrictor of sorts and they’d need to bump up spring weight to compensate which would result in stronger draws according to them

My issue is that for about the same price, I could get a Harrier, which would give me nylon injection-molded body with metal internals and compatibility with airsoft/real-steel stock options. For a whole lot less money I could get a Trion or the upcoming Unicorn. Any of these are a lot smaller than the mk4. I dunno if this really has a space other than as an oddity to round out the dart Zone collection. That draw is just too long and the price places it in the premium range where its value is not as compelling.

@@jaredtawater2537 It's still a great blaster despite a few minor issues but the plunger head, catch plate and priming sled are plastic not Metal. It can also missfire if bumped due to the "hair trigger" slope on the plunger catch surface.

@@dangermaus9253 It's shorthand. No blaster manufactured for resale has 100% all-metal internal parts as far as I'm aware. Most people use "all-metal" to differentiate from blasters like the Nexus Pro that have comparatively little metal overall. That said, if my inaccuracy bothered you, I apologize. I think we can agree that the quality of internal parts on the Harrier (plastic or metal) still outmatch most other blaster offerings.

@@Telefrog Shorthand is a form of writing. There are several blasters that actually use all metal internals, which of course you end up paying significantly more for. The plunger head leaves a lot to be desired even compared to something like the NP.

I would probably take this over a Harrier if I were going for something like this. I prefer the look of this, harrier gets a bit too close to real-steel profile and silhouette for me. This thing, especially with the barrel extension, looks like a scifi railgun or something. I loved how the Swift looked but heard too many issues about a few fragile internal bits and build quality. This gets me a similar look and vibe with better build quality, and a good range of performance options out of the box. Between the two springs, the barrel extension, and SCAR, seems like you can pretty easily tune up or down. $180 is quite a bit expensive and more than I'm looking to spend right now, and I've not had the opportunity to go out and actually compete. So I'm likely to stick with my Nexus, Conquest and Deuce Pros for the time being, though I am def eyeing that new X-Shot Longshot.

A DartZone podcast/sit down talk video thingy hinted at the use of a 20mm spacer in the MK4 and the darts that come with it are the “bamboo 2x” darts and are supposedly heavier than the bamboo 2.0s

its really not that good considering the price is x3 that of a stryker, and the additional features are pretty minimal. For $120 extra dollars you're getting slightly more comfortable ergonomics, a barrel extension, scar and a few other things when you could put maybe $5 worth of spring upgrades into the stryker and hit 200 FPS.

Not 200, maybe 170, to get to 200 in a stryker takes a brass barrel and stringer spring, the mk 4 can go from 90-220 Fps super fast, I'd say It's worth it but it's not for everybody

Yeah I agree. I've a Tomcat ($70). It shoots in the 160's. Dunno if mk4.0's added $110 to get 40 more fps is worth it. Although, it does have step-down to 120 fps spring & Tomcat doesn't. Tough call. Thanks Drac! -Scopes Maverick

@@KenshinPlayz57 I put the 180fps OOD spring in my striker and a custom pvc spacer and it hits over 200. It has a scar barrel and even a skinny pusher which lowers the performance. With the spring and spacer alone I am sure you can get over 200fps.

Pretty sure the MK4 being botched on purpose because of toy regulations. Because the plunger tube of the MK4 is metal and also big (same diameter as the Swift), it can handle much more heavy spring load compared to the stock springs. My prediction is it can shoot up to 250-300 fps with beefier springs

The Dart Zone guys have confirmed on their Blaster Chat podcast that the blaster goes up to 200 fps out of the box due to regulations, but it's _built_ to be capable of going much, much higher with springs and spacers on the aftermarket. People who have gotten theirs have already taken them to 300+ fps!

Regarding the mags, in a promo video Dart Zone mentioned how the Mk4's mags have skinny lips that can bend around the pusher. So standard talon mags will need the prime pulled back to be swapped.

Personally, this blaster is good, it competes with the harrier, while the harrier runs smoother, the Mk 4 having adjustable Fps on the fly make them even Imo, but cheaper blasters exist, Nexus and Stryker for 50, The Trion and Mk 1.2 for 80, its not bad its just for a specific market of buyers

From what I've seen out of the box; Harrier has a better build quality and can shoot harder in a more compact form. I am curious to see the modability of both blasters though in the coming months. *Edit:* Forgot to mention that Harrier can also change/replace its stock, whilst the MK4 has the spring build into the stock, unfortunately.

Build quality on the Harrier is fantastic and that extends to the type of plastic used for the shell. Ergonomics are also great. Prime is the smoothest of any blaster I've handled and that's even with a return spring. I get that the silhouette is a bit realistic but that's a big part of what makes it comfortable and customizable. If that's a concern just get the orange version. The Mk.4's performance is on par with the Harrier, but it suffers from weird proportions. Stock is fixed and I don't know if the foregrip can be easily swapped. Total length might not be far off from the Harrier, but that foregrip seems to sit too far forward.

I called this when they advertised 200 fps with the strong spring. Bamboo 2.0 are still lighter than most darts at .8 grams, I think...This thing hits 175 with Af pro darts. Yes its an upgrade from the 1.2, yes u can put a stronger spring and spacer for 250 fps,(with a huge barrel and no scar option) but for $180?? Common dude, maybe take a note from the Australian lol

LordDraconical regular review. I was expecting something more deep like your old video reviews shooting the target in the backyard. Expecting to see the versus videos of from box Nexus, MK1.1/1.2, Trion, Harrier. The box presentation is amazing with custom foam. The idea of use as storage is good. For the blue version a plastic storage rifle style and DZ will just killed presentation.

I am trying to decide between the Mk4 and Harrier. I am 6”2’ so I could physically handle either of these blasters. The thing that concerns me most about the Harrier is it’s Scar Barrel. Has anyone found a different Scar that works better than the stock one and doesn’t fall off. I would probably want to use the Harrier around 190 fps. I care most about a solid feel and accuracy. What do you think is best?

The SCAR on my Harrier fits snuggly but given the complaints it seems like there's some inconsistency in manufacturing. Still, it's nothing a bit of teflon tape wouldn't fix so I wouldn't worry about it. As for the SCAR, it's good but third party options are better. Just remember that twist rate needs to match FPS. I'm running a BCAR with a 5 degree twist and at 180fps accuracy is fantastic. However, it doesn't help much with my 260fps Swift. So if you upgrade either the Harrier or Mk4 beyond stock performance the included SCAR will stop being effective.

Keep in mind you can't use a scar on the Mk4 extended barrel without modding. The Harrier is compatible with any scar or bcar designed to fit a 16mm OD barrel. As Maweitao said if the fit is a bit loose use some tape.
