It was quite sad to watch...the closed bivouac hut after all your effort of getting there and doing all the digging. The more I appreciate your attitude & mindset; do not let these minor setbacks discourage you! Keep up the great work. I am already looking forward to your next adventure!

It's really strange they simply lock the bivouac, particularly in the cold part of the year. It could be life saving even with the door broken or whatever.

1200 meters up and then down in one go, partly in the dark, after shoveling/ battling with the ice and the deception of a second missed hike, and finishing with a cold bath by night, much respect. Makes absolute no sense to lock a bivouac, whatever the reason... Love your videos and spirit. Can't wait for the next one.

Hi Andraz, such heartbreaking story. The bivouac is really beautiful. I've been there this summer and still amazed that it is put there just like that for free. It shows great community spirit and reinsures me about my decision of becoming PZS member, though not living in Slovenia. I gladly give back to the climbing community with this spirit at least in this way :) And you have all my respect by going down the same day. The way up just used all my energy for a day and I was taking breaks about each 10 steps on the last scree-field :D You're our king of the mountains. Btw Skuta -> Grintovec through Dolgi hrbet is really beautiful route, though probably too easy for you :D But if you want relaxing one, I believe it would make nice video.

Andraz yes this was a pain but you need mental fortitude to survive bad situations in the mountains, work on your positive outlook, make every negative a positive and expect the unexpected. You missing the cave tour on the way down shows you were over-thinking this hicup, stay in the moment, be safe and keep being awesome. The swim was great would love to see more of that very tough thing to do.

with structures like that, they should always allow an emergency or fall-back entry point, just in case it's needed at times like these. you can say it's officially closed for insurance purposes but no need to be so heavy on the locks...

Thank you for all the kind words! I’m very happy to hear I inspired you to visit 😀. Well that totally depends… for example Triglav in the summer is always very crowded, so I do not recommend it, because there are plenty of other less popular peaks with even nicer views that don’t get much visits. You can see route popularity on Strava heatmaps (sadly only with a paid subscription)… For route planning I recommend hribi.net and maPZS. You can find all of the peaks and all of the route difficulty on there :)

I hate snow. Because it conceals where Karst has a pit entry. Jolted by a knee-deep unexpected drop adds to an education. Fatal fall depth discovery makes other people unhappy. I winter camp when into Karst. Apart from glacier caves and lava tubes I often find limestone caves are warmer than outside.

That seems like bad policy to be closed over a minor inconvenience like a door issue. I'd send a letter to the park that it is a safety issue to not offer 24/7 access to the hut unless it is an extreme circumstance, like a structural issue that would make it dangerous to stay in the hut. Someone could die because of this idiotic decision to shutter the hut over a door malfunction.

I also hike alone only, even night time (in winter mostly), despite the fact we have a lot of bears here..-adrenalin junkie 😂 I would recommend you to buy a real car, something permanent awd or rwd, not girlish fwd cars as was all of your cars until now (in content which i've watched until now).
