Hi Andraz, such heartbreaking story. The bivouac is really beautiful. I've been there this summer and still amazed that it is put there just like that for free. It shows great community spirit and reinsures me about my decision of becoming PZS member, though not living in Slovenia. I gladly give back to the climbing community with this spirit at least in this way :) And you have all my respect by going down the same day. The way up just used all my energy for a day and I was taking breaks about each 10 steps on the last scree-field :D You're our king of the mountains. Btw Skuta -> Grintovec through Dolgi hrbet is really beautiful route, though probably too easy for you :D But if you want relaxing one, I believe it would make nice video.

I hate snow. Because it conceals where Karst has a pit entry. Jolted by a knee-deep unexpected drop adds to an education. Fatal fall depth discovery makes other people unhappy. That seems like bad policy to be closed over a minor inconvenience like a door issue. I'd send a letter to the park that it is a safety issue to not offer 24/7 access to the hut unless it is an extreme circumstance, like a structural issue that would make it dangerous to stay in the hut. Someone could die because of this idiotic decision to shutter the hut over a door malfunction.
