USA teams is only assembled and practice 1-2 months before these games, and they still mostly dominate. Also, the world had caught up, and that is OK. Tatum has length, handles and athleticism, can guard all 5 positions, his game is suited for the international game… yet he didn’t play a single minute VS Serbia. WTF!
@terrellestephens89224 ай бұрын
You're using his stats from 2021 to justify why he should be playing in a game in 2024. How does that make sense? Not even the same roster. He's not the second best player on this team and he hasn't been playing like the current NBA champion either. If I was Kerr, I'd stick with LBJ, Curry and KD too. I'm not sure what's going on behind the scenes but JT is not what everyone keeps trying to make him up to be and if we lose a game, it sure as hell won't be because he didn't play. He's not the difference maker here.

I think the biggest weapon all these other teams have against team USA is that they're literally their country's national team. They've been playing together for years in order to represent their homeland. And team USA being the most anticipated team have huge targets on their backs. Everyone knows about the superstars, so everyone would also know their biggest strengths and weaknesses. That's why I think the only thing keeping team USA afloat is pure talent. And that's what sets them apart for me. They've only got a few months to think how to play with each other, they've been operating with different playstyles, but despite that, at the end it just comes back to the fact that each one of the members can go off on their own if needed.

And we ain't gonna mention that Serbia almost won last night in 1/2 finals, and were leading like 38 of 40 minutes... Wild ending, could have gone both ways, congrats but gods of basketball were on US side last game. Serbia outplayed them with a lot shorter bench and lesser known players excluding MVP, Bogi and Micic, so Europe has finally caught up with the NBA o/

Serbia had an outlier three point shooting spree for three quarters ( 15/30 ), then went cold 0/9 in fourth quarter. Any team can get hot shooting and win one game ( Dallas vs Boston in this years NBA finals ). Good thing Curry had a game like he is capable of at the right time.
@ImaGOAT-874 ай бұрын
@@x_the_spaniard2288 So Curry had a hot shooting spree than 9/13, and that's ok. But when a teams have a shooting spree you wanna say its pure luck? I could argue otherwise, that 0/9 was a shooting slump...😏
@blowc16124 ай бұрын
As bad and shiiit that performance was by team USA. NO, Europe definitely not caught up 🤣 🤣. Majority of team USA are young and have zero clue how to handle pressure in real time. Serbia HAD ONE STRATEGY and they executed it well in a bubble. THEY HID THEIR MAIN STRATEGY IN THE FIRST TWO GAMES AND CAUGHT TEAM USA BY SURPRISED AND IT SHOOK EVERYONE BUT STEPH AND LEBRON who are the only ones who kept composure while the team was down. Other teams USA would have definitely been able to adjust against team USA, it's the lack of experience under pressure is why Serbia caught team USA by surprised. It worked in a bubble, essentially ONE GAME, that's why Serbia didn't use it until yesterdays game..... You're a casual so I guarantee you have no clue what was Serbia's strategy. In a series, this would still be a sweep. It was literally team USA talent is why they was able to win.
@blowc16124 ай бұрын
@@x_the_spaniard2288wrong, it wasn't an outlier. It was a strategy well executed by Serbia. Serbia excited their game plan and it shook the inexperienced and the chokers on the team and played horrible defense. That shiit show was the WORST defensive performance team USA has ever done. Kerrs coaching help in the 4th as outside of Steph and Curry the rest of the team played frantically and scared that they were down double digits throughout the game and kept playing with mistakes. The pressure got to them of the thought of losing. In the exhibitions, there was no pressure like yesterdays game so the young inexperienced players and chokers was able to compose themselves back but yesterdays game YOU CAN CLEARLY TELL THOSE PLAYERS FELT THE PRESSURE OF LOSING.

Yes, the US has the majority of the best basketball players in the world, all in the NBA. However, this isnt 1992. Basketball has grown to new levels around the world. There are 64 NBA players on OTHER teams. And we arent talking about just bench and G-League players. This includes all-stars, rookie of the year, the 2 best defensive players, and arguably the best player in basketball right now. Not only that, these players have bean teammates for years. The US has not. America *SHOULD* win. However, the days of massive blowouts are over. I wouldnt be surprised if in a decade or two, the dominance is over.

Who tf on the dream team is guarding AD or Embiid?? You act like Serbia team is full of people you know, outside of Jokic and without Jokic that Croatia team is just as good if not better than the Serbian team 2. The Dream Team did not take their competition seriously. It was more of a pick up game for them where nobody was trying to swear nor play anywhere near 100% as they know they can be on cruise control and win. That's why Barkley was the leading scorer and not MJ who would completely take over if he wanted to and the others would definitely let him as they did when Magic talked that shiiit during the scrimmages. If MJ thought their competition would post a challenge TO THEM, then he would have been dropping 40 EASILY but he was more concerned about golf, gambling and hanging out with the guys. He stayed up all night playing cards, played golf all day and only took naps, that should tell you how seriously he took the competition. That's not a complete knock on the competition, they were just that much better that they were doing globe trotter like plays. 3. The select team they dropped a hundred on consisted of many players that played against LeBron and some against KD and Curry. The "skills" people act like that is better today definitely did not exist against the Dream Team as BESIDES Christian, each one of them would be averaging a lot more in today's NBA and would post the same OR EVEN MORE stats than this 2024 team. 4. WHO ALL 3 are older than the whole Dream Team was in 92. Magic WAS DEFINITELY NOT RUSTY DUMMY. 🤣 Such a CASUAL thing to say and clueless about basketball. Magic was literally closer to his Peak Prime than Curry, KD and LeBron is today as he LITERALLY just lead the Lakers to the finals A YEAR PRIOR and won All Star MVP months before that summer posting 25/10+/6 shooting 50% and hit 3/3 3s WHEN THE PLAYERS TOOK ALL STAR GAMES SERIOUSLY. The rest of the team were literally AT THE PEAK OF THEIR PRIME 🤣. Yet even when Bird was out of his Prime Peak, within the last two seasons of his career he was STILL PUTTING UP 25+ PTS, and still 20pts in the 45 games he played in 92. With about 6/4 rebounds and assists with decent defense, still wasn't a liability on defense. Who literally had one his best game that year. Putting up 40+ pts against a great defensive team in Portland. Bird maybe nurturing his back at the sidelines but definitely will still light it up when he is on the floor. You're just spewing false narratives WITHOUT knowing the facts and numbers as a typical casual who just believe the drama that likes of Nick WRONG and Cowdung tries to push since they don't know a single thing about the Xs and Os of basketball, and just read box scores. 5. Who's guarding Embiid and AD?!!! THE MOST CASUAL QUESTION EVER 🤣 🤣 🤣 as LITERALLY EVERY NON CASUAL ANALYSTS WOULD ADMIT THAT THE DREAM TEAMS FRONT COURT WOULD DOMINATE THIS WEAK FRONT COURT 🤣 🤣 🤣 Embiid soft ass flopping around would cry and AD will quickly go back to his natural uniform, street clothes. YOURE SUCH A CASUAL, that you have no clue that Ewing, Malone and Robinson are elite defenders, as all 3 are all defensive caliber players as literally all 3 got DPOY VOTES, all 3 were top 7, 5, 1 in DPOY voting. Robinson is literally considered in the top 12-14 of all time defensive players which none on this team are included at all. Probably even top 10. They would lock up soft AD and Embiid. Literally all 3 averaged 3-5 blocks per game and 1.5-3 steals per game. Unlike the defensive players today, who rarely are also top scorers, ALL 3 LEAD THEIR TEAMS IN SCORING. As all 3 are in competition for scoring champs outside of MJ and Robinson won it when MJ wasn't in the league. Embiid FLOPPING isn't gonna cut it 🤣. While AD literally struggled every time against Sabonis in the last 3 seasons and he isn't even a shot blocker like these 3 and are more as good as Barkley on defense who isn't a slouch on defense who is a good defender not elite like the other 3 but good, and Sabonis also put up more points than AD head to head, which easily tells you Bam, AD and Embiid ain't doing anything against Dream Teams front court 🤣. 6. Uhhh yeah, Curry outside of the SERBIA game was non existent as literally UNKNOWN GUARDS just followed him to slow him down and throw his rhythm off AS WE HAVE SEEN TIME AND TIME AGAIN, A BOX AND ONE DEFENSE ON CURRY SLOWS HIM DOWN. He would have the Lengthy Magic, One of the best on ball defender in Stockton who is physical on defense AND STILL THE STEAL LEADER OF ALL TIME that since he broke it, NO ONE HAS COME CLOSE not even the likes of Choke Paul nor LeBron who has been in the league longer than Stockton's career. Clyde who is a great defender, and of course the best on ball defender of all time and at getting steals and the best blocking guard of all time. Literally one of the best players will always be on Steph, and he ALREADY STRUGGLED AGAINST NON NBA GUARDS IN THUS OLYMPICS. I'm not even gonna mention the rest of the PGs as they don't even belong to be mentioned as they would be just cones on defense against the offensive Juggernaut of Dream Teams back court of having TWO OF THE BEST FACILITATORS IN NBA HISTORY and a top 5-7 shooting guard of all time. Of course the GOAT. I don't even need to talk about Currys defense..... While Booker is a choker who folds under pressure and Edwards inexperience and showing early signs of a choker when he choked last year in Fiba, choked against the Mavs and was choking AGAINST SERBIA the moment they took a double digit lead, Edward looks lost, frantic and looking like a rookie on the floor with horrible defense, horrible offense who couldn't execute and was a no show. What would those two against the goat and Clyde a top 50 player when they both made Bogi look like an All-star. 7. The only small advantage this team has against the Dream Team. The Wong position specifically the SF of LeBron, KD and Tatum. But it's literally a small, very small advantage as Pip is an elite on ball defender and top 2 all around, team defender, and have the strength and length to definitely slow down KD and LeBron and the same time can facilitate, spread the floor and can score. Mullin being the same who can definitely light it up especially during those times when he shoots over 50% on the floor, 39% behind the arc which was elite in an era of no emphasis on the 3. Plus Mullin is a great defender. He easily matches up well against Tatum and can play enough defense on KD and LeBron, or could be switch to the two and have MJ on LeBron, or have Barkley or Malone on KD. They aren't stopping those two, but can definitely make it hard for them especially neither are in their peak Prime. As even if they were, it would still be the same case as we have seen in Prime LeBron the likes of Leonard can make him ineffective. Which Jordan would be able to do it better . Which allows Pip to be on KD. Bird may not be able to defend like he used to, but he still wouldn't be a cone and would be able to be a spot up shooter with so many weapons on the floor especially when MJ and Magic is on the floor who demands a double team when on the floor. Just literally, LOOKING AT THAT SERBIA GAME, with the well executed plan they would have been able to beat this 2024 team if Jokic didn't get into foul trouble and got his 4th early in the 4th. A team that holds no candle to the Dream Team and no one on that team even come close to the same tier as MAJORITY of the Dream Team especially MJ. A double digit lead HAD TEAM USA CHOKING, and Curry woildnt be able to save them when he is being bounced by the likes of Magic and Stockton. MJ would actually take the game seriously, drop 40 on this team as no one has the defensive abilities to slow him down to 30 pts. As no one on this team is a true elite defender. Jru is the closest who is still isn't close to the defensive abilities that MJ faced. MJ leading the way to a 15 or lead at the end of the 1st quarter as they keep piling on every quarter, as this team would face more Legends, top 50 while this team only has 3 true top 75 who aren't in their peak prime, as AD should have never been included. As every quarter the lead would just balloon unlike team Serbia and would not CHOKE IN THE 4TH. SERBIA HAD A STRATEGY AND ALMOST EXECUTED IT ALL GAME LONG. The Dream Team would not only be able to do the same thing ALL GAME LONG but they would definitely do it 100X better. a 35+ pt lead for the Dream Team would be easy when they at least try. As MULTIPLE players on this 2024 team names wouldn't belong in the same sentence as the players on the dream Team.

But today's 3-point heavy, and motion focused gameplay that EVERYONE else now does is the perfect recipe against an all star team like USA who has to figure out how to play together and stay away from a your turn-my-turn style that won't work against chemistry and execution. Perfect example is the 2014 spurs (that actually was pretty mutch an international team) vs that star studded Miami hest with their 3 1st balad Hall of famers. They got spanked. And now the rest of the world has caught onto that 2014 Spurs recipe, and team USA is still tryna get by on pure talent alone.

Plumbers? You're delusional. The Dream team would blow out this team by 35. After that shiit show against Serbia says it all. This team isn't close to the dream team. With chokers in Embiid, and Booker

@@blowc1612 yes PLUMBERS. The dream team played against a total of THREE…THREE NBA players…Serbia literally has 4 NBA players by themselves hahaha not to mention a 3 time MVP including LAST SEASON. I appreciate how ignorant you are though that must be a nice life😂

@@blowc1612 BY FAR the best player that the dream team faced was Dražen Petrović………. Please say something about him being top 100 or something I need a good laugh

@@londonwilliams4958 literally the reason why the Dream Team were put together BECAUSE THE REST OF THE WORLD WERE USING PROs in other leagues thars why our college players were no longer good enough. YOURE A CASUAL WHO DONT EVEN KNOW ANY BASKETBALL HISTORY 🤣. Kukoc IS BETTER THAN MAJORITY OF THE SERBIAN TEAM. Also it doesn't matter who the Dream Team faced, THEY BEAT THEM HOW THEYRE SUPPOSED TO BY 45 WHILE CRUISING AND NOT PLAYING THEIR BEST BASKETBALL and Trying hard. They would beat Serbia by 40. They would beat this team by 35+. Considering the rules are more offense favored in the NBA today. Majority of The Dream Team players would be averaging 30+ pts in the NBA today outside of Magic, and Stockton who both play true to their position. MJ would be averaging 45+ it today. You're a casual.

When people were saying LeBron had nothing to do with The Klaw going back home. I believe it. Something happened beyond that point. Also Jalen Brown couldnt join for some reason... Crazy

Ok ok, USA has a team full of NBA “stars⭐️” but Fiba basketball is very different and a bit difficult. Plus you have to have chemistry to play at this level. They playing against teams that played together since teenagers and their style of play has not changed. What USA should do is pick a team of USA players that play in the Euro League ( as well as other leagues over seas) and let them play summer ball against the NBA summer league teams. Create a style of play and get them ready to compete in Fiba and the Olympics. You can add a star or two if you want to have more fire power. What y’all think???
