In the same show, Amanda did a song by Orup (the one you call "the older guy"). It's an English translation of his hit (orginally performed by Orup and two other guys) "När vi gräver guld i USA". While the has directly translated the title directly "When we dig for gold in the USA", she change the meaning of the song completely. The orginal was written for the Swedish soccer team for the 1994 FIFA world cup in the US (Sweden ended up on 3rd place), but in Amanda's version instead the tells the story of Swedes immigrating to USA. There was a huge wave of immigration to North America in the mid 19th/ early 20th century, due to poverty and even starvation in Sweden in that era. So she very cleverly changes the focus into that, while still directly translating much of the orginal lyrics. Amanda Jenssen fled Sweden after all the attention The whole Idol thing, I just drove. I never stopped in between and started to feel tired in an unpleasant way, she said in the program. But slowly but surely she is starting to come back into the limelight and last summer she made several appearances.

You should listen to some songs from The Ark. The band where Ola Salo is the lead singer and songwriter. He is amazing! He is also a musical star and has starred in two versions of Jesus Christ Superstar (as Jesus and Judas). He is gonna play Willy Wonka this winter in Charlie and the chocolate factory musical in Gothenburg, Sweden. I have seen him live 5-6 times... or more. He is amazing!!

Gun fast. Amanda was actually a performing act to Rolling Stones a couple of years ago. She did a small comeback in 2023 and she sometimes performs on smaller festivals. She has a lung condition so I know she’s also been dealing with that. But her voice is amazing and she is a really talented songwriter. She has released 3 albums

Amanda turned down her record deal because she felt the industry tried to change her to much, control how she locked and what music she wrote. And she didn’t like the limelight. After Idol she went huge from one day to another. She is one of this extremely musically talented who also has the “it factor” she’s amazing! You should watch her sing with the blond woman you se it this program. Them to together is 👌

I like them both. I really hope Amanda will be able to release more music in the future. Miss her voice. One of many talented female artists that the music industry didn’t take care of. In addition to her albums, she recorded the haunting single ”Christmas fool” in 2013. Two years ago, she joined Ola Salo’s band The Ark at one of their reunion concerts in Malmö.

I agree! They sing "the old man's" song. His name is "Orup". All his songs is pop in Swedish good and a little bit different lyrics. Recomend just from my head right now "Jag blir hellre jagad av vargar" (I prefer beeing haunted by wolfs)his first hit and "Regn hos mig" (Rein where I am)from the 80th.

If i remember correctly, she was born with some kind of lung disease, and she was not supposed to sing at all. In the end I think she was forced to stop singing.
