Loved the stand “Harrier Ted” dedicated to the Harrier, particularly the model of the two seater company demonstrator G-VTOL (desert camouflage) doing the “Farley” vertical take off. At 8-49 you can see that’s what being modelled because of the angle of the aircraft and the main landing gear is retracted but the outriggers are half way retracted. John Farley was the Harrier chief test pilot at Dunsfold Aerodrome the Hawker Siddeley / British Aerospace airfield in Surrey. John Farley perfected the vertical take off with a twist, he’d initially take off vertically with the aircraft level, then lift the nose to near vertical retracting the landing gear at the same time, then climb away, was a very impressive sight to watch the aircraft claw its way into the air by shear engine power! I have to admit to being a little biased, back in the 1970’s/80’s I used to work at Dunsfold on the real G-VTOL, I asked John Farley once “what happens if the engine fails when you’re in the vertical position with no speed?” His answer was “I have to hope that when the tail hits the ground the aircraft falls belly first so I can eject”

The submarine shown is certainly able to both operate ON the water, and also submerged. A friend of mine had one that got wrecked at the Hoddesdon Model and Railway Club.

Great video (with no bull......). Two guys having fun, what ever you skill level which is what model making is all about in my opinion. My skills are definitely average and nowhere those on display in the video, but I enjoy what I do. Keep having fun guys and making great videos

You absolute pair of nutters, brilliant. Got to say Lawries Spit was the best because of the camo sceme and nowt else. Model shows are an absolute amazing thing to see.

Just for the record, washes work better with isopropanol (rubbing alcohol, IPA), I like to use 70% so it won't strip paint as readily as like, 99%, but it causes the wash to flow better, settle into the crevices better, and the alcohol evaporates faster than water.

So many models with great diversity, the details are time taken is staggering. I've not done an airfix model for so long, maybe I should buy one to make But yes very few model trains or non military models which is a shame Love the models from Gerry Anderson TV shows, iconic I want one or maybe all of them

A lot of great models! Pocher cars are the best, but they are expensive in both money and place. Nice to see Modelu figures in this sort of show, I should soon get my order with the LMM crew (I hope that this package will arrive safe, as I never got the LMM KZbin figures).

You guys are on another planet :) I'm amazed by the amount of time that has gone into that show. Sadly, real war is coming and I hope these ppl will be able to deal with the real hardware. Isn't it easier to paint the bits while they are still attached in the production frames? Do you think this sort of show is essentially mental health therapy? Or qualifies as such 🤷🏼♀️ I wonder if ppl modelling battles are still trying to come to terms w such events. It's mind boggling. As long as everyone is happy and costs are covered.

I was wondering if Bachmann were still producing trains in NG7, as they call it!! If so, I would love them to model the Volk’s Electric Railway in Brighton. It’s the world’s FIRST ELECTRIC RAILWAY, built in 1895, elongated to Black Rock in 1897 and has been used ever since!! I’m a fan of this short and early railway.

1:23 Lawrie... Look at the models from the F1 Authentics Store. The models on there are a few thousand pounds. Though they are made by a company called The Amalgam Collection who (as far as I understand) buy the CAD drawings for the cars and build the cars with all of those details in. They are also all hand crafted. They do models all the way up to 1:4 scale which cost a little bit of money.
