ILX’s would’ve shot up in value if the DCT was more moddable. Definitely a bulletproof drivetrain.

This is why I went with the 22 Acura ILX A-SPEC and not the 23' Integra A-Spec. The NA DCT in the ILX is way better than that 1.5Lturbo-CVT jumk they paired the Integra with. I don't mind the outdate interior for that fun powertrain combo. Only saving grace for the Integra is the Type S that is coming out, albeit at quite the cost.

As a 2023 Integra CVT owner, I would have to say it’s sufficient for my day to day driving. I had a 2018 Audi A4 2.0T and I think the Integra is just as fun (if not, more fun) than the A4 was. Also you had me dying with the “I prefer you to stay in your damn lane” 🤣

Thanks for reviewing this car! I've always liked it. It's very underappreciated. It would have been nice if Acura kept the manual transmission option for the ILX, and made the steering wheel smaller. However, the fact that this car has one of the best engine and transmission combinations on the market, I am strongly considering this car. The Honda Civic manual hatchbacks are my other choices.

Thanks, I too was waiting for Acura to keep this awesome 8-speed dct, but instead put CVT. I sold my 2016 Honda civic CVT, because I didn’t and don’t like CVT. But, I’m glad I still have my 2016 Acura ILX. It’s fun to drive this car.

I would rather buy a discontinued ILX than the Integra with the horrible CVT. To me, the ILX is perfect for daily driving. Thanks for the video! I almost overlooked it until I did a search about the 2022 ILX.

I have a 2023 CVT integra and ngl sometimes I wish I had more but I switched up my individual modes to sport and I’m definitely enjoying the car more. Lmk I’m thinking about doing a down pipe, muffler delete, and intake. I wanna hear the turbo more and add a few horses if I can

The DCT would have been great in the Teg. I driven first gen TLXs with it and it is very responsive and quick. Would have made alot of sense for it to be in the Teg.

I agree, the 8speed DCT is amazing, I drove a 2018 ILX as a loaner a few years ago and was impressed how quick it was. That said, at the time, the 8speed dct was used in both the ILX and TLX so the cost of manufacturing it was justified. Right now there isn’t any vehicle using that transmission, so it would be costly for Acura to pair it with the 1.5t for the Integra given the fact that the Integra is a relatively low volume vehicle. If the Civic had the 8speed DCT then it would be cost effective for Acura to implement it in the Integra as well. Acura isn’t a global company like the Germans, so they don’t have the sales volume to justify certain costs.

I've had this car for almost 2 years now, it definitely grew on me. It's such a niche car, it's almost the perfect compromise between comfort and driving dynamics at this price point. I just wish the road/wind noise is more subdued, and that my door panel rattles less when playing music with heavier bass. I have soooooo much fun with the K24 and DCT everyday

I’m a simple man, I see your video, I like and comment! XD With budget cuts and the supply chain situation I guess they couldn’t really help it :/ Cz why would you want to purposely ruin your new sporty product with a transmission that doesn’t deliver on that promise? I’ve driven the CVT and I thought it was a smooth transmission definitely catered towards comfort and efficiency, but it did lack that extra fun and push the manual has as far as the Integra goes. I had a DCT in my 2018 GTI and I didn’t like it whatsoever. Always rough to get going. Once at speed, great, but personally not a fan of DCTs. I think an 8 speed or even the 10 speed auto would’ve been better than a CVT if the DCT wasn’t an option. My biggest thing is the cost of the car vs the transmission you’re getting. The CVT itself is fine as far as CVTs go, it’s definitely one of the better ones I’ve tested. But it belongs on an economy car, not a premium/luxury car (even if it is entry level). Amazing video as always! Love the ILX. Never really understood the hate. Taken one on a long road trip and it was very comfortable.

Honestly Acura should’ve kept the Ilx in the lineup & introduced the Integra in the lineup as a premium sport coupe like it’s supposed to be!!…if I owned Acura i would’ve updated the interior of the ilx & added 40 more horse to that wonderful 8spd Dct definitely would’ve been a force to be reckoned with

You should do another video comparing 0-60 times. I’m curious to know which is faster overall. I know my ILX completely dusts the regular standard 10-11th gen civics, but the Integra does have a bit more power.

My guess is that they’re saving the DCT for the Type S so they’ll have an automatic option that the Civic Type R doesn’t.

I doubt Acura will offer an auto version of the Type-S. If they did, I don't think this DCT will hold up to the power. It would need a lot of re-working to handle the torque. If it were to have an auto version, it would more likely be the 10 Speed auto. But I don't see that either. But your guess is as good as anybody's until they release the car with final, and official information.

the head of the Integra product development did an interview on a forum and already confirmed that there won't be an awd version, a hybrid version, or a DCT version. It's pretty disappointing.

I think Acura missed the opportunity to use the 10at with the upcoming Integra Type S, especially given the fact that the Accord no longer has the 2.0t option, I could definitely see some Accord 2.0t owners switching the Integra Type S if Acura offered the 10at.

Yeah it’s a noisy little car especially at highway speed. But it’s still very enjoyable to drive IMO. Not the fastest thing but it’s got a very willing nature about it.

Not hard to fix if you don't mind removing door panels and maybe some interior bits as well. If you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself many body shops (or even stereo installers) will also do sound deadening. Just be careful to not add too much weight, the stuff that really works isn't exactly feather light.

The TLX did also have the DCT with the 2.4. I think I prefer the ILX because it was lighter so the 201 HP felt just a little more potent in my opinion.

I own a Nissan Rogue 2015. I will sell it to get an ILX. Can’t stand the CVT trash that sooner or later will die on me.
