The DCU Can Succeed If They Make This One Change - CBR

Super villain fans rejoice! The stage is set for the DCU to take cinema by storm. Although still in the early stages of development and with only a few projects announced, James Gunn and the minds behind the DCU have an opportunity to truly achieve success if they decide to lean in on their strengths and focus on some of the beloved characters that make their stories so memorable-we're talking about their villains of course. In this video, CBR looks into the possibility of bringing a team of villains like the Legion of Doom to life on the big screen, the implications and what it could mean for cinema. If the Gunn and the producers were to proceed with such a project and have villains such as the Joker, Lex Luthor, Black Adam, Black Manta and countless others join forces, it would surely make for some memorable on-screen fun.

Batman's Rogue Gallery in a movie would absolutely epic. Also I would love if James Gunn Makes Joker a massive threat such as Taking inspiration from Death of the family and Endgame. Also i would love to See Wilem Dafoe Play The Joker he would be absolutely epic. Imagine an adult Batman prequel movie that tells story of The Death in The Family and it could set up Under the redhood story for future film. But I would absolutely love if The Killing Joke and Death in Family was Adapted into a film and not as flashbacks and they could show a proper gruesome torture scene for Jason Todd and Psychological scene for Jim Gordon. Probably never happen as he is focusing on Damien Wayne but personally think some prequels films would be cool and they could also have a Long Halloween film with Batman Rogue Gallery. But one scene in Batman movie that would truly go down in history as greatest fight scene is if Batman is surrounded by Two Face, Riddler, The Penquin, The Joker, Harley Quinn, Killer Croc, Mad Hatter, Mr Freeze, Clayface, FireFly, DeathStroke, Bane, Poison Ivy and Scarcrow and Batman fights them all at once and it shows how Deadly and Skilled Batman is and to see him Defeat his Rogue Gallery by Himself would just be epic.

They make a superman game, a flash game, batman beyond game/movie and dlcs characters for Gotham knights because the gaming department got really bad

I liked the video because i agree the DCU has not been as good as it should have, but i completely disagree with your opinion. I say this as only my viewpoint, not that you're wrong. DC never did the work to make the universe feel like a universe. WB did the WB thing and tried to make money trees from dirt and dust. They went from Man of Steel to Batman vs Superman which is meant to be the prequel to the Justice League. We never saw anybody other then Superman before we got what is probably the #1 and #2 most known DC superheroes fighting each other. We didnt even get to see the DCEU Batman. He got introduced, his backstory was probably one of the weakest points of his character, and then he started fighting Superman for one of the dumbest reasons. The second most important character in all of DC got reduced to plot fill. Thats the epitome of corporate greed. The MCU succeeded because it celebrated most of the members of the Avengers in individual movies where we learn about them, their motives, what makes them strong and what makes them weak.... BEFORE they brought them together for a giant setpiece movie that expanded on the universe the characters know and the universe the consumer knows. The MCU only worked because of the time, patience and love that was given to all of the individual parts of the universe before we got to the big events. While I agree the DC movies could use a big showstopper threat to make us care, thats being lazy. What about getting to see the members of the Justice League be their individual characters before I'm expected to watch them fight world or universe ending threats. Exposition about these characters backstories is not good enough. Iron Man didnt tell us he got blown up, we saw it. We saw Hulk change the first time, we saw Thor not be worthy, we saw Cap fight and lose. Long-winded to say, DC cant just start at the middle and expect for engagement. Make me care about Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, and Aquaman. Make me care about the larger universe they live in. Make me wonder about the dark corners we cant see yet. Make me feel the dread of losing. Make me care about winning. But if they dont care about making a good product, i wont care about watching it.
